  1. Any chance of a right side view mirror? Not trapezoid.
  2. Has anyone found a similar sized unit from any other vehicles that will fit the 2002. I just wanted to exhaust all options before I send mine to Jeff (Ireland) to be rebuilt. thanks hendi
  3. How much for brake booster? And, do you know if it works properly? thanks hendi
  4. Hello y'all! I need a set of left and right qtr glass horizontal, and vertical. How much? Let me know, I'm PayPal ready...
  5. may i ask......where did you get the linkage set-up for the carbs? got a name, or a manufacturer? thanks hendi
  6. hey everyone! i just wanted to ask ....is there anyone with knowlege of a possible replacement for this squirrel cage blower? possibly from another bmw or any other type car? at the same time...i'd sure like to purchase a used/working unit if anyone is interested? hit me at mrhendr at comcast dot net. thanks, hendi
  7. secondary butterfly should be closed at idle.......period. there is an adjustment screw for that....... if it is bottomed out......i have had to shave the cam on the linkage to make it so. webers are not made like they used to be. also....make sure you have actual flow thru your water-choke hoses! many times, the aluminum nipples get clogged with corrosion from not flushing anti-freeze.....or using too much water over anti-freeze. always use phosphate free anti-freeze! it is a lot more friendly to the inner water passages....especially the aluminum. hendi
  8. just a suggestion......ever had an upholstery shop look at them? many times they can do magic for a lot less than you would think. my daughter's 1970 2002 had rips in the driver's seat....and the stuffing was coming out. my place charged me $60 to add stuffing (and it looked good....not like a bus seat) and you could not tell any repair was made at all! i dont know how they did it.....but i did have to remove the seat and bring it to him. so.....just a thought....never hurts to make a call or stop and ask. a good shop can do amazing things with vinyl! he currently has a dashboard that he is re-covering for my son's 2002! hendi
  9. tink! so great to see pics and hear you. i know a bit about personal setbacks......trust me. but.....stay positive and above all....keep that brain working on overdrive! it is truly good therapy! especially with a good 2002 to work on! hope you remain well! and.....one more thing...... .....aint it great to have a CAD and a lathe???? the best, right? looking forward to sump plans..... and bracket for pump!!!!! thank you, sooooo much! love your project...... and....... have since beginning! keep breaking that new ground! be well! hendi in miami
  10. almost forgot........i have to agree on a period-correct paint color for that '67. look into it. there are a few that are quite nice. i myself painted my '72' in 'florida' green....(its more like a key-lime pie green....very light). since i'm in florida....it was kinda cool, too. besides....the car doesn't get too hot in the summer since its such a light shade. but....it's entirely up to you. you can paint that '67 any color.....as long as the bodywork is straight.....and it will still be cool! good luck! hendi
  11. jake......i've done a lot of 1600/2002's in my day....dont give up on that '67! it could be quite a car if done right! you dont see them, like.....EVER! i think its so cool that u found one in decent shape. i know how it is....the more you uncover....the bigger the hill to climb gets! and ...sometimes it seems like way to much work....but hang in there!!! you'll have a rare jewel in the end! you mentioned something about a 1973 that you also have. you are one lucky guy!! i'd keep the '73 for another project! that....in my opinion...is the BEST year for the 2002! hang on to that one if you can. solid shells for that year are VERY hard to come by pal....unless you pay big bucks! i would love to have a '67 AND a '73 again....you are very lucky....trust me. keep up the great work! love the pics! love the photo bucket! great detail! good luck! hendi
  12. nice.....very nice! for me....the best years are the 1971 to 1973's! sorry square-tail-guys.....i love them ,too........but....for me....'71-'73's are my favs! you have quite a jewel there! looking forward to see how you come along! keep us posted and take lots of pics....please! good luck! hendi
  13. very nice work! you are off to a great start! i hope you realize how incredibly lucky you are to have gotten a 'square-tail' body in such great shape!!!! most have serious rust issues........SERIOUS.....RUST....ISSUES! you, however, have a beauty.....i'm jealous! take your time, dont rush, and always....always.... do it right the first time! nice car!!! you will have a beauty after all is done! good luck!! hendi
  14. from one m2 builder to another....trust me....if you are planning to use the 1/2 air box from the m3 and the other 1/2 from the 528e.....leave yourself as much room as possible on that left side! you'll be glad you did. i found out too late...and wound up using a kn. it's very tight after all is done! but....besides the fact that the factory air box looks cool (like as if it was from the factory) ...that lower half actually faces right to the front....like a factory-made cold air intake!! other than that....your job and car looks great! keep up the good work! the reward is like nothing else in this world.......and fast, too! good luck! hendi
  15. ah, yes......the curse of the '76 driver's side rust! hang in there.....you'll get there. i have one too. one piece a day.......of rust replacement, that is! one panel at a time! good luck! hendi!
  16. hey, tink!!! when will i see more???? its been almost a month!!! i need to see latest fabs! great job! hendi
  17. so......how much practice did ya need to get the heli-arcing down-pat? i dont do it enough...seems like everytime....i gotta learn it over again. your welds look great! hendi
  18. nice.............very nice. love the hidden hitch.....love it. your daily updates r great........keep on keepin' on! thanks hendi
  19. i just finished seeing your entire beginning to present work story. i've been restoring 2002's for some 30 years now.......and....all i can muster is....wow. wow. it is so refreshing to see fabrication skills that were usually reserved for a few dying breed of craftsmen (like me) used as an art form by a young guy as skilled as yourself! you....my friend.....have it! ......wonderful feeling after an idea comes to life, is'nt it? i, too.....know that feeling. your project rocks! keep on keepin' on! i want to see the rest! hendi p.s. i......love.........your lathe.
  20. do you, by any chance still have the door cards.....or panels? if so....how much for all? mark mrhendr@comcast.net
  21. nice! here's a look at a fresh florida color.....and it's in florida! nice 1600, though......take care of that one....not too many around anymore!
  22. i would take the recaros....w/o the adapters! ....but too bad you wont ship! ...i'd buy them today! i'm in miami....33187 if you reconsider. hendi mrhendr@comcast.net
  23. my spal is 14 " and pushes 1800 cfm's.......and with a northern race radiator.....i still have the temp creep up during long bouts in traffic. i can relate to the aussie's ambient temps....i'm in s. florida. it gets cambodia-hot here....especially now in the dead of summer! running.....its well below half. also...i'm running a/c! i have a very thin cross-flow condenser....and it's ice cold. but i am still looking for a bigger/stronger(more cfm's) pusher! IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS OF A POWERFUL PUSHER....OR THE STRONGEST AUX FAN FROM ANY OF THE BMW FAMILY....LET US KNOW! thanks hendi
