  1. You can call it a Tii-i. Nice car and color. heck, eventually look for an injection system and add alot of money to the value.
  2. i'm interested in one of these also in blue.
  3. cool, I assume the pig fits in the trunk? Do you keep the trunk rust holes to drain any leakage?

  5. That was me Andy, Thanks for remembering! I'll have to look into that 320 support. cheers! Mark Buggy 2000 cs 5 speed in process.............
  6. I'm about to order as well, where do you clicky through?
  7. I've heard of the 318i alternator install. is there something better in using the M3 Alternator? More amps? thanks, Mark
  8. Whew! late reply. Thanks Andy if you get a chance to get a pic that'd be great. Best, Mark Buggy
  9. Not that it means much, but there's an oil pressure transducer for an electric gauge on the differential housing. I assume that's not period.
  10. I saw you mentioned a modified E 21 center support on the 2000 coupe in an earlier post. I'm in the long process of installing a 5 speed in my 2000cs, and am planning on using the 2002 center support bearing. figured i'd weld up the tunnel brackets from a 2002 to mount it. I'd like to see how others got around the funky original support bearing. I'm using a modified driveshaft, 2002 front/e30 rear, so it has splines to take up some small slack. I had them install the 2002 center support. anyway if you have any pics i'd enjoy seeing what was done on your car. best, Mark Buggy
  11. I see the e36 doesn't get too many nods here, but i would definately suggest an e36 M3. I've had mine for 7 years now, adding 50k miles to it. I've had to replace only ONE item during that time, a camshaft sensor. Sure i've done filters, suspension, cooling and brake maintenance as required. I haven't had any "parts falling off" as described by others. I've got a convertible, which after 11 years tend to have their own idiosyncracies. I've never had any other e36's, but I wouldn't bother with other models mainly cause the M3 prices are going way down as compared to a few years ago. The car is a blast to drive, the engine has a reputation for going strong-long, and the later years had more safety equipment, side airbags etc. " Best-Handling Car Ever – at any Price" by Car and Driver in 1997 Lastly, in my opinion, styling wise it has the last remenents of the boxy 2002 style. A low mileage example is ~80k nowadays. For a DD, i'd get the four door sedan to make life easier. Drive one.
  12. craigslist ad in Bay Area http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2056704615.html not mine no affiliation if interested do your homework on these cars first, most importantly condition and price.
  13. That's really cool to see period racing in Latin America, (not sure which country). I especially liked the pictures of the family and freinds. Looks like a good life of racing from an early age. The 2002 ti looks like it was put to good use! Also props to the Camaro(?) at the end with the "Why Be Normal" on the back spoiler. Thank you very much for Sharing,
  14. hmm, i thought it was a good explanation of the tribulations and behind the scenes work involved in ordering and shipping parts. I have a little better understanding of what world i live on.
  15. I'm liking that rear bumper delete with the squarie. I know it removes the seat and beer tray.
  16. I've heard many times that folks put Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and letting that soak overnight, prior to turning it over. pull the plugs and pour in. My guess is ~25ml per cylinder is plenty. Then do what "02for2 in M" said for turning over the engine by putting it in high gear. Also, you may want to inspect that gas tank. First step is to remove any old gas that's in there. Definately put in a new gas filter.
  17. Tom, Thanks for the info. I am assuming with the 2002 subframe, a standard 2002 header, i.e. Stahl etc. would clear the idler. with the NK, it doesn't fit at all. Any experience on that? Other than the NLA left side engine mount, that's why I'd like to replace the subframe. thanks for all the leg work! mark
  18. Hello Neil and TJ, Motor Mount Brackets, any way to get these reproduced? Is it just the left drivers side that is needed? I heard the Right passenger side is the same as the 2002. If so the drivers side looks easy to get a metal shop to reproduce these. Mark Buggy
  19. I had a leaking booster, and I discovered it was the rubber o-ring between the Brake Master Cylinder and the booster. I used some silicone grease on the O-ring and bolted up the Master Cylinder and it held vacuum again. Try removing the master cylinder and seeing if that is the problem. By the way, Silicone grease is also known as vacuum grease and is one of my main go to items for anything rubber that needs to stay pliable and connected and sealed. Fantastic stuff!
  20. Agreed, a meter is cheap and very useful on old cars. Also verify all fuses are ok. A bad condensor can cause no spark. Check the distributor cap inside center contact is ok. Start with the cheapest ignition parts and start replacing.
  21. Ahhh, #4 and #5, the two that will forever keep me behind the wheel of my BMWs.
  22. The 1600 must be good for gas mileage. If your set on more performance, pull the 1600 and keep it off to the side in case you want to go the originality route later on. I'm guessing the mid 60's 1600's are getting more rare. Drop in the 2L, there's plenty of options for that engine. Also, look around, someone may have an engine already set up for sale.
  23. Norm, Send me an email if you still have that engine mount Mark
