  1. Is it me or are those white letters on the tires rubber cemented over the top of some other tire? Don't get me wrong, I like much of the build but that is jumping the shark when going so far for aesthetics, in my humble opinion. Edit: Wait. Nope. Those ARE Toyos. But they still appear to be rubber cemented.....
  2. I recently had this problem after robbing a fuel pump off of a running car to move another car in progress. When I tightened the pump down on the studs, I must have had something misaligned and it wouldn't move any fuel. I loosened it up, tightened it back down taking great care to insure it was straight and it worked fine. THEN I had the same issue when I put it back onto the "good" car. I ended up aligning the pump with the pump's pushrod and compressing the spring manually until the flange of the pump was against the surface of the spacer. I then tightened the mounting nuts down onto the flange of the pump finger tight and then used the wrench to tighten them properly. Voila. Fuel pump pumping fuel.
  3. Nope, Jason. This one wasn't one of mine. Sounds like one of the ones I'd have kept with all the suspension work it's had done. :-) Welcome, RJ. I've been away from here for a LONG time. Just popped in to learn a bit about rebuilding brake calipers and started perusing the boards. You'll (hopefully) find this group is full of people like the guy you bought the car from.
  4. Wishing you well, Esty!! A stroke is no joke!!
  5. None of my frozen brake lines looked even remotely as good as yours!!
  6. I've been checking your photobucket page throughout the day. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!! Jamie
  7. I'm 90% fixed on painting it white. I'm not a body man and I think it'll hide some of my shortcomings. At least I hope it will....
  8. I'm getting short on patience. Started masking the car. Reality is hitting home that I just don't have the funding to do as complete a job as I'd hoped. Plus, I badly want to drive it!!
  9. I wouldn't sweat it. There are many confused about their orientation.
  10. Depends on how much beer the "artists" consume I guess.
  11. I could happily bring my windowless/paintless car and we could finish it this weekend if you want something to do........
  12. I'll get a new propane tank for the grill and some more beers then....
  13. Yesterday, I did a little more paint removal from the front, under-hood part of the car. Lots of quality time with a grinder outfitted with the Chinese wire wheel. Here are a few shots of what I got done.
  14. Wasn't sure where to put this, so I stuck it here. If you're passing through Terre Haute, IN on your way and you have a problem anywhere near here, I have lots of spare time, lots of spare parts (non-tii) and a well equipped garage if you need to perform a DIY repair. However, my welder IS broken so we'll have to source that out. Also have a good cook on hand as well and a fridge with beer in it if you're having an alcohol deficiency and can help with a truck and trailer to pick up and haul your car here or to a shop to fix it. You can email me: sirrichardpumpaloaf at yahoo dot com Jealous that I'm not going myself. Hope none of you have any issues but if you do, I'll gladly help.
  15. Here are some after pics of the tail of the car. Spent quite a bit of time sanding off surface rust and tidying it up. Couldn't stand it. Had to spray some primer. Wish I hadn't, now...
  16. Surely it'll fit through the kitchen window!!!
  17. I will no longer be able to use the excuse that I don't have a suitable place to work on my car.
