Spend some time in this thread. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/186160-bumper-rubber-strip-clip-and-rubber-bushing/page/2/
I tried to order the bumper seam covers about eight years ago and was informed that The joint covers are on "Euro Restrict". We need the North America registration of a corresponding vehicle to acquire them. This rule was imposed by BMWNA so I ordered the following Euro restrict parts; seam covers, center bumper piece with holes for license plate lights and the license plate lights from Walloth Nesch.

I'm real happy with the end result.

I scrapped all of the original Tii stuff and fitted an e28 pump, been on there for more than 10 years never missed a beat.
My tii fuel pump was very noisy and on its last legs so I did the same almost two years ago, OEM tii fuel pumps have reached unobtanium status and if you find one, they are obscenely expensive. I followed Keith Kreeger's write up https://www.my2002tii.com/tii-fuel-pump_how-to.htm with a E28 fuel pump that I bought for about $100 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-electric-fuel-pump-69418 No issues since.

Following this thread. Cibie, Auteroche, Carello, Bosch, Marchal, etc.... Euro E-code headlights are becoming hard to find on this side of the pond. Hella E-Code are still easy to find. I removed the Cibie E-Code lights from both my tii and E30 and replaced them with Hella E-Code. This was due to the numerous rocks and road debris on the roads here in Colorado. Sure enough, the Hella H4 on my tii now has a crack in it due to a rock or road debris.

I ran E30 weaves for years on my former tii with 195/60 tires. Tii had Bilstein sport shocks and Eibach springs. It rubbed only while turning from a flat street on to a steep driveway. I just learned to turn slower on to steep driveways.
One thing that turned me off about basketweaves is the expensive center caps, they are now over $100 each at the dealer. Tire shops would break off tabs, had a couple stolen, etc... That caused me to go to these open lug basketweaves on my current tii. I do admit that basketweaves are seductively beautiful but such a bitch to keep clean. There will soon be a power washer in your future.

When you pull the heater box, take the heater core to your local radiator shop for a pressure test and core it out if need be.

In 2021 when I was living in MD, my 02 heater fan stopped working. I took the top half of the heater box with the fan in it to P&H auto electric shop in Baltimore. They put new bushings in the fan, balanced the blades and it works great, extremely quiet, all for $50. They are an old school auto electric shop which is hard to find these days. Something to think about if you find a correct fan for an 02 that's not working.

195/75-15 is part of the problem. Consensus tire size among the 02 crowd for a 15" wheel is a 195/50-15 or 195/55-15. The other potential part of your rubbing problem is the wheel offset. We need to know your wheel specs. Spend some time in this thread to learn more.

6. 195/70/14 tires on e30 weaves with flat (not hub centric)0 10mm spacers and stock lugs so they don’t rub the strut.
I had E30 basketweaves with 195/60-14 tires for years with no issues or spacers on my tii. Make the switch from 70 series to 60 series tires on your E30 basketweaves.

As you can tell, I'm not a fan of LED bulbs. Maybe technology has gotten better over the years but I've been blinded a few times by cheap aftermarket LEDs. I think money is better spent on these for your 2002.

Which tires are cheaper in that size than 185/70-13?
Or, is it that a certain tire is available in that size and not 185/70-13?
I don't hate, but I don't understand what you're saying. Could you please post examples?
I put KUMHO SOLUS TA11 tires on my car last summer. The price was reasonable and they seem just fine. It's a daily-driver, not a race-car, or a show-car. I suppose it's an economy-car.

E30 steelies are still available at your local dealership parts counter or vendors such as Blunttech, FCP Euro, etc... https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-steel-rim-schwarz-51-2jx14-et-35-36111178826? Take a rattle can of silver wheel paint on the E30 steelies and you'll see they look great on an 02. Do a search in the FAQ forum for E30 steelies on a 2002 to see pics. If I were to buy 13" tires, it would be Pirelli CN36 185/70-13 but they are nearly $200 each and been on back order for a long time.

local LA vintage tire shop has a bunch of 13's in stock from different brands

Con: out of stock and nearly $200 each.
It's cheaper to buy E30 steelies and 195/60-14 tires. Purists now hate.

Truth! Not cheap to run these tires in the US. A full set of Sprint Classics at Tire Rack is going for over $800USD. Does anyone know anywhere that is cheaper?
Another option is to go with E30 14X5.5 steel wheels and 195/60-14 tires. You'll come out cheaper . I bought E30 steelies off Craigslist for $100. You can buy E30 steelies new from the dealership or aftermarket parts vendors. Do a search on "E30 steelies" in the FAQ to learn more. Pic of E30 steelies on an 02.

i need to replace all 4 tires on my '72 2002
any recommendations appreciated
Problem is, decent 13" tires are going the way of the dinosaur in the US market. I realize that you can order Pirelli CN36 from Longstone in the UK or order 185/70 from Coker tire for $200/tire. Even decent 195/60-14 for bottlecaps are getting hard to find.

If you're looking for E3 Bavaria parts, join the E9 coupe forum, they have a parts forum that's for both E3/E9 parts.

Gordon, What offset issues did you have with the 6X15 ET12? How were those issues resolved with the 7X15 ET26? Given that’s the look I’m after (the Alpina turbines) I wish I had a zero to low risk specification to fit on my car without issues.
Rubbing issues on the fender, even after rolling the fenders. A 15X6 ET12 wheel was designed for an E21 fitment, not a 2002. I did my homework and quickly sold them and went with 15X7 ET25 Rota RB wheels. The key to getting a 15X7 wheel to fit on a 2002 is proper offset. Lots of 15" 4x100 wheels for sale on FB Marketplace and Craigslist. Most have a high offset for a FWD car. For proper 15X7 wheel fitment on a 2002, the wheel should have an offset of ET 22-29 with ET25 being ideal. Read the link in my earlier post to learn more. This pic shows the stance I want. The wheels on my tii are 15X7 ET25 Centra Type 11 with 195/50-15 tires. Suspension is Bilstein sport shocks, Eibach springs.

ET12 works with the 6”, but not with 7”. If you go with a 7”, you’ll want ET25. As mentioned, I like the 6” Maxilites because they have a lip and some depth to the face. The Rotas are 7” ET25 and have much less lip.
15X6 ET12 won't work, I had a set of Alpina replicas in this size and had rubbing issues, they didn't last long on my tii. MSW 15X6 ET33 basketweaves fit well. Here's a pic of them on Wends former tii. Notice they do not have a lip on them in the 2nd pic. Gold wheels on the tii on the right compared to the 15X7 ET26 MSW basketweaves (with a lip) on the tii on the left.

I had a set of Alpina 15X6 ET12 Alpina replica wheels on my former tii. I admit that they looked great but they didn't last long on my tii due to the offset issues. Before you spend any money on tires and wheels, spend some time in this thread. Your wallet and sanity will thank you in the long run. My tii now has 15X7 ET26 wheels with 195/50-15 tires. I'm a happy camper.

Interesting, you say you obsessed with originality but I see E30 bottlecaps, aftermarket steering wheel, radio and console gauge cluster. Restomod upgrades on a square tail light 02 is a good thing. I Love golf yellow.

And people think road salt is bad for cars--salt air is even worse. Don't ever buy a car that spent the first part of its life in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York etc, and then the owner moved to Florida, the Gulf Coast, Houston etc. Road salt rust goes from the bottom up; salt air rust goes from the top down, and it meets in the middle!

The rustiest 02 I've seen was in Honolulu. The roof looked like Swiss cheese, the rest of the body didn't look good either. I've seen an E9 that was the same way, it lived a couple of blocks from the beach in So Cal. Salt air and vintage BMW's don't do well together.

I have similar 15X7 wheels but an ET26 offset. They are old school MSW basketweaves, cast in 87, made originally for an E30. Bought them a decade ago for cheap ($160) for the set. I prefer the open lug look over a big center cap. No issues with these on my tii , 195/50-15 tires.
