Here are the results of the dyno runs on my 1970 2002 – 67 hp @ 5500 rpm and 90 lbs torque @ 3300 rpm at the rear wheels. The run was at 75 ft and air temp was about 80 degrees.
The engine is stock except for the following:
- Weber 32/36, jetted to CD’s prescription, on Cannon intake. A/F on runs seems reasonable.
- Ignition: Stock Distributor with Petronix, new cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Distributor has been removed mechanical advance cleaned. Vacuum advance checked with vacuum pump. Both advances appear to be working.
- Exhaust: Tii exhaust manifold, stock down pipe, Ireland 2” Magnaflow mufflers with 2” pipe.
- Valves recently set.
- Timing set to stock: Ball in center of hole @ 1400 rpm with vacuum advance plugged.
- Compression 150-155 psi
Car starts and runs very smoothly. It has good low to middle end power but as the curves indicate looses punch at the high end.
Is this a normal with this set up? If not, what should I change/check/replace?
What would your next major modification be (carb, cam, ignition, exhaust, etc)? I use the car for Autocross and a part-time daily driver. I would like to give it more high end power without greatly diminishing drivability and loosing low end.
If you want the detailed Dyno data, PM me.
Thanks,
Chris Ward
