  1. Thank you -- that makes these rears! ? See pictures attached (a little bit dirty from sitting in a box in the garage for a few years).
  2. I have a pair of the rubber bumper ends for a US large bumper car. I don't know if the front and rear were different. I have two in a box. Free to anyone that wants them and is willing to either pick them up in person or pay for the shipping from Irvine, California, 92620. Will update this ad with pictures when available.
  3. I am buying my daughter a new Honda Civic and selling her 528E. It has served us well for the last 1.5 years. It has just over 140K original miles on it. It had been sitting for almost 2 years when I bought it. We went through everything to make it safe for my daughter to drive to school and to work every day. The fabric on the top of the lower cushion (in the center) of the rear seat has started to come apart. And. although the fronts have been covered with sheepskins most of their life, the fabric there is also falling apart. The sun makes the cloth brittle enough to start falling apart. Strangely enough, the top of the rear seat's back cushion is NOT falling apart. The exterior is unbelievable... All original paint with no sun or accident damage. The original owner bought this beauty in Irvine in 1982 and garaged it at home and at work. When her husband could no longer drive, they decided to use his Mercedes S320 instead and parked the 528e in the garage. They finally reached a point when it no longer made sense to keep it and tried to sell it "as is" (would not start, covered in dust, sitting in the garage). The eventually accepted my offer and I sent it to Eurotech in Mission Viejo to be fully sorted out. Everything works and the car drives great. The car and I are located in Irvine. I will have pictures next week (after it stops raining). I will be looking to get at least $4K on Craigslist (advertise it for $5K and take $4K). I will offer here to my '02 friends for $3500. BTW, it is Baltic Blue Metallic with a light cream cloth interior. And, it is an automatic transmission. Brian Foster PRSNCAT at GMail dot com
  4. I have a set of 4 bottle cap alloy wheels which were originally on a 1988 325iC. The chrome is in poor condition. However, the wheels are straight and damage free. $100 for the set. Brian Irvine CA
  5. I received an email about this discussion and should pipe in. Yes, I owned what should be 2760076 and sold the shell to Rich Gehring (San Diego) in the mid-1990s. The car I owned is Verona. I bought the car from a body shop in Orange CA. It was mostly original and had been sitting in California in a garage for a long time. It had original paint, no body work and original interior when I purchased it. I had Bavarian Rennsport put it back in driving condition and drove it to the BMW CCA Oktoberfest in Monterey (1992?). It blew a head gasket when we arrived and I wasn't able to use it for most of the Oktoberfest. The car underwent some modifications and I was leaning toward building an Alpina A4S clone. However, a number of purists convinced me it was a bad idea and to leave it original. So, I sold the car to Rich and had Bavarian Rennsport build me the A4S clone using the remains of a rusted out 74tii hulk and a beautiful, rust free 74 2002a shell. I wonder which one of the cars is the original 2760076? Interesting... Brian Foster PS. I miss the forum and have not lurked around here in awhile. I sold the last 2002 6 months ago and have been trying to avoid falling back into the 2002 ownership addiction.
  6. Looking for: 2 front door panels (with no speaker holes) Both front door handles/arm rests Rear quarter panels I am converting my blue interior to brown/tan and need panels in very good to excellent condition. I am located in southern California and willing to travel to buy and pickup the pieces. Brian
  7. Pictures are starting to be posted: https://picasaweb.google.com/prsncat/20110511?authkey=Gv1sRgCIumgNrs8bitYA&feat=directlink I will put more pictures up of the seats, more parts and the carpet kit when the sun is up long enough to take them. Brian
  8. I am working on it. I only decided to offer Sam last night. I will work on getting some pictures together and sharing a link where people can go to view them. -Brian
  9. I was not sure I wanted to post this... but, with 6 cars, 3 drivers (including a new, 16-year old), I think it is time to part with a couple of cars. Sam is a 1974 2002 which runs and drives great... Mechanically, the car is fantastic. I would drive this car anywhere and at any time with complete confidence. Yet, she is not much to look at right now. I have removed the interior and the trim in an effort to prepare her for paint and body work. I have everything and it will go with the car. I have a spare set of bumpers with several great sets of the bellows. I also picked up an extra pair of seats so I could drive her while the interior was being reuphostered. The carpet has been completely removed (and, I have a new tan carpet kit from Esty sitting in a box ready to be installed). Some details: 1. Chamonix with a Navy Blue interior. 2. Sunroof 3. No AC 4. Heater has been bypassed due to a leaking heater valve (I have a new one -- these are getting very expensive) and the fan does not work at this time. 5. No radio (removed the junk in it and sent it out for recycling) -- I might have something I will give to you if you absolutely need a radio. 6. Stock steel wheels with new tires. The car sat for a long time. So, it has some rust bubbles near trim (where water was allowed to pool). The floor boards, fender bottoms, nose bottom, rocker panels, trunk floor, shock towers, etc. are all rust free. Both front fenders have a small bump. Yet, the nose is damage free. I have replacement fenders if you don't want to go through the hassle of the body work to repair them. The hood had a rust hole near the beltline trim. I purchased a very nice Fjord (metallic blue) hood and trunk lid and installed them on the car. I will also supply the originals if this is what you would prefer. I can go into a lot of details and can provide pictures. Location: Irvine CA Price: $2800 FIRM. Brian prsncat@gmail.com
  10. Give Ben Thongsai a ring at ben at bimmers com to see if he an '02 he is willing to part with. Otherwise, your best bet might be trying to have someone find you something out here in the West and having it shipped. Brian

    2002 Hood

I still need to find a decent hood. * No damage * No rust * Color is not important Condition is everything. Brian
  13. Was this the burgundy Bavaria in Mission Viejo (the posting was deleted by the seller)? If so, then feel free to get in touch with me regarding this car. I have looked at it and it is located around the corner from my mechanic. I can hook you up with my mechanic to have it inspected by knowledgeable person who will give you an honest assessment. Brian
  14. I agree... And, you are going to regret selling this car Sean! :-) I know I do... To potentially interested folks: the car is also on Ebay. Someone... please... snap up this car. I would if I could. It is/was everything I ever wanted in a 2002. Brian
  15. I stumbled on this car for sale in the Sacrament Craigslist: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/2129494436.html After a little correspondence with the seller, I have confirmed this is the same car Bill Holmes of Bavarian Rennsport put together for me. There are a lot of special things in this car and it is/was very well sorted out. Sadly, the original Alpina A4S-clone motor seems to be long gone. It's too bad it is so expensive. I would love to own this car again. I hope it goes to a good owner who will take good care of her. Brian Foster Irvine CA
  16. Thank you, Bola, for the parts! - Brian Hood, trunk lid and both front fenders. * No rust or serious damage. * The color is not important I am located in Irvine CA and would prefer local pickup. Brian
  17. I am looking for the following: Passenger Side Front Fender and Hood - rust/damage free and color is not important Late steel wheels - it appears I need at least 2 straight, undamaged wheels Brian Irvine CA 1974 2002 "Sam"
  18. I am located in Irvine and I need a clean gas tank in clean, excellent condition. -Brian
  19. Looking for rust free, undamaged hood and front fenders for a 1974-1976 2002 (color not important). Must be in Southern California (for easy purchase and pickup). I am also looking for stock seats (so I can send the current seats out for upholstery). Color unimportant... must be in decent enough shape to bolt in and use for a couple of weeks. Brian Irvine CA '74 2002 "Sam"
  20. Where are you located? I am interested in the seats as well. -Brian
  21. Access the bolts holding the shocks to the body through the trunk. Remove the inner trunk panels to gain access to them. Don't cut any of the flashing or covers on the bumper shocks. Unbolt the outer bellows as well from inside the trunk. Then, the entire assembly (bellows, bumper and shocks) can be pulled away from the bumper. Then, you will have easy access to the bolts holding the flashing to the body. Brian
  22. I would like to offer some food for thought... I am not a fan of the trim. However, I agree the sight line is an essential, visual element of the original design. However, there is precedent for it not being there... Remember, the 1502 offered at the end of the production run did not have the beltline trim. Also, remember that the side impact trim is a continuation of the impact strip on the 72-73 US (or 72-77 European) bumpers. It is not a decent visual element unless you are using these "long tail" bumpers. Therefore, I would recommend (and I am seriously considering for Sam) removing the belt-line trim, filling in the holes and placing a painted (wide?) pinstripe instead. If you have 72-73 '02, then leave the impact strip. If you have a 74-76, then removing the impact strip might actually help the appearance since it looks odd with the large bumper bellows. A better visual solution for a 74-76 is to get the 72-73 bumpers and leave the impact strip. And, if any of you have some "spare" belt-line trim for "free," then I need a few of the pieces (driver's door, passenger door, passenger rear quarter, etc.). :-) I hope my counterpoint has been helpful. 23. interested in selling the big bumpers? are they in good-to-excellent condition? Brian roundel@hotmail.com
  24. Well... I lasted a little longer this time -- it was almost a year without an '02. Unfortunately, my little WTB post was answered promptly by Gordon who hooked me up with Pierre and we had a "deal" within 24 hours of the posting. Pierre's family names their cars and my newly acquired '74 2002's name is Sam (and I think it might stick -- however, I consider it short for Samantha). I had the day off yesterday (for Columbus Day). I took a train from Irvine to Camarillo (California for those outside of the state) and was on the road home with her by 4 PM. FWIW, Pierre and his family are GREAT! It was also nice to see Michael McHenry yesterday too. I made the 150 mile drive home with little adventure. The car runs and drives great. So, Sam is now part of the family. And, she is - officially - the 45th personally owned "02." I won't be restoring her anytime soon. This is a car to enjoy... now. Pictures will be posted soon. 25. I am looking for a pair of the rear bumper ends for a 74-76. They must be uncut and in good-to-excellent condition. I am also looking for a decent set of original front seats from 74-76 '02 or early 320i (which are the same if I remember right -- except the 320i seats are slightly wider). I would like to reupholster a set while still enjoying the ones in my car. I am looking for original style seats (for a 74 2002). I am located in Irvine CA... so only southern California folks regarding the seats. Brian
