  1. The Seller bought it on BAT - here's the listing including audience comments. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-bmw-2002-36/
  2. No VIN plate AND no holes for it. I'll wager it's a 1976 (& probably Inka-ish) Let us know the VIN.
  3. Sorry, no info on that one.
  4. Since 2016 it has moved from VA-NC-AL-TN and last I heard it's again in NC (Greenville). Doesn't stay with an Owner very long. Pics from 2017 & 2022.
  5. It would appear my info is not complete. I now know VIN 1063700 & 1063786 both are 1972 1602s assembled in Portugal. The mystery continues. The 3629581 is a German built 1971 2002.
  6. Unusual colour for, what appears to be, a pre facelift Touring. Normally Agave.
  7. Huh! A little late Harry, Chris wanted this over 15 years ago.
  8. It's been a loooong while since I owned an E12, so, I was surprised to find the FirstFives Forum defunct. Anyway, maybe this is some help.... https://www.firstfives.org/faq/AC/ac_repair.html
  9. Dionk was selling it in 2020. Do not know if he suceeded & got his optimistic price. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/268406-rusted-parts-car/
  10. Interesting. Carl must have had 2 Cabrios then. According to a copy of the Cabriolet Owners Register 2 January 1987, Carl had a 1970 Chaminox Cabrio 1558394, but no mention of the US spec Cabrio.
  11. Apparently a common problem. I have number 3 stalk switch waiting to go in, (#2 was supposedly good!!!) but i'm wondering if there is another reason for being able to flash the high beams with the stalk pulled but not have them come on with the stalk pushed.
  12. That 5w bulb in the Euro headlight bucket is called a 'sidelight' when both are on (used in low light before dark) when driving and called a 'parking light' when one ( say left) is on plus the left tail light whilst parked on a dark street. It was the law in the UK if parked on a street with no lighting. Running these overnight will not run your battery down if you had a 'back in the day' Euro battery that would happily last a good 15+ years.
  13. Yes, what Mark said.......Reseda
  14. Yes, what Mike S. said. Where the pinch welt crosses over the B pillar, the bottom of the pw is cutout.
  15. FYI: the pinch welt only runs up the B pillar & stops. The piece that starts at the A pillar runs over the door area, across the top of the B pillar and over the rear side window to the C pillar.
  16. When I'm out & about in my Touring it seems to be more the female of the species that's curious. However, they do not call it cute but usually "that's an odd one". Oh well.
  17. Yes, congratulations are in order Steve. Whatever happened to roadfly 🤔
  18. Interesting! VIN 1061683 was the last 'pre 71' 1600-2 assembled in 1970 (according to info I have gathered) The Portuguese 'model 71' 1600-2 VINs started at 1085001 in 1971. What colour is 1061683 (Chamonix, Nevada, Sahara?????)
  19. If you paid $7k you did real well. The Owner wanted $30k!
  20. FWIW - Fuse sticker/decal for 1971
  21. I remember that one in a hoarder's yard in Ontario (CA) in 2010. If you don't mind, I'd like to know the VIN, for my database records.
  22. A new 2 ton engine hoist is north of $300, if you find a decent used one but with leaky ram, then an 8 ton replacement cyl/ram for the HF Pittsburg hoist is $50 via Amazon. Used, within reason (price) would be the way to go.
  23. Hi Sherman,

About that orange. It was a 'tongue in cheek' comment, as it seems to me, Inka is the most favoured colour.

I was in a humourous mood but I have to remember that some of my comments are taken too serious.

    Cheers,

    Les
