Locally, Hoover at Turbohoses might be a good resource. He is in Livermore.
If you already know what you want, finding a place that does exhaust for the 4x4 crowd is a good start. They know how to bend and tuck things as needed.
If you do not plan on going out there and winning things, I would not worry about chasing the extra 2 HP by tuning the muffler location compared to the collector. That part might come later.

A couple of cool articles
Exhaust Header Theory and Proper Exhaust Tuning
BURNSSTAINLESS.COM
In order to explain the effect of exhaust tuning on performance, let’s take a quick look at the 4-stroke engine cycle. The first step in the 4-stroke process is the intake stroke. With the intake valve open, the piston travels down the cylinder pulling a fresh air and fuel mixture into the...Muffler Technology - Sound Measurement
BURNSSTAINLESS.COM
Muffler Technology – Part 1 Sound Measurement Over the past few years, as residential homes have been built closer and closer to race tracks, there has been a strong movement towards reducing the sound from race cars. At some tracks, such as Laguna Seca in California, the...There are a lot more interesting things to read there. I need to find an article explaining the distance from the collector to the expansion. That should allow some thoughts on the distance of the muffler/resonator from the collector.

I highly recommend Burns Stainless
Burns Stainless: Performance Exhaust, Collectors, Race Mufflers
BURNSSTAINLESS.COM
High Performance Stainless Steel Exhaust Parts. Burns Stainless offers exhaust parts, tubing...I ran their muffler on my race car and passed all sound limits including San Diego where they were a bit rediculous.
You get to pick the internal diameter, external diameter, andlength. They are also serviceable and can be repacked. They are super light: 3 to 4 pounds. They are not cheap, but in this situation you get what you paid for.
Our rules were that the exhaust has to exit behind the driver seat, so I ran the header to a short pipe to muffler, another short pipe and turn down right after the driver seat. I did not take it to the side.

Event Title: Shamrock Rally
Event Location:
Event Author: steve k.
Event Date: 03/16/2024 08:30 AM
This is a single-day Vintage Car Rally for 1975 or older sports-type vehicles. We also enjoy dull, drab, and just plain weird cars. This is a chance to free up those seized brakes and get your car ready for the driving season. If your vintage ride is disabled or newer than the 1975 rusty line in the sand, just let us know. The vintage cars do take priority.
Meet up is at 8:30 AM and Tiferet by the Park coffee shop at 3020 H Street in Sacramento. There will be time for coffee, snacks, and schmoozing. Sign in, get a route and a sticker. Drive off will be around 9;30 AM. We are looking at 125 miles for this event.
The rally will end at Red Bus Brewing, 802 Reading Street in Folsom.

Great Article!
I beg your pardon, I spotted a duplicate paragraph, if you are accepting editorial comments.
Thank you! I think I found it and fixed it. Was it after the Touring section?

It is finally here. It took several months from the idea to the "print." I even accidentally published it once before it was completed. I hid the comments that were placed at that time as they are irrelevant anymore. If you still want your comment unhidden, please let me know.
Thank you, @BritshIron and @02Les , for most of the work here. I was just an editor.

It is hard to believe that it is 02/02/
0224. Because of all your help, we have survived for the last twenty two years and seem to be striving somewhat. Sometimes things are tough, but ingenuity keeps this site and our cars going strong. We are a couple of years older than Facebook and 8 years older than Instagram. We might not be as big, but that was my stupid idea to start a site that, at most, could bring together the owners of only about 350000 cars.Keep them going, and enjoy the ride! I sure do.
To celebrate our twenty second revolution around the sun, I am setting the price for all T-Shirts to $22. Enjoy! And I added a new design, Racing Through the Streets.

You can find all our T-shirts at our Store
Or pick them here

I know the issue that is causing the unread content to error. It is the Video Collection that we have. It is currently disabled, but it i still causing issues and needs to be uninstalled. The developer for that app is MIA, and I might have to permanently lose it. I have a replacement app, but I cannot transfer the data, so I will need some help finding all posts with "New Video Added" and adding those videos to the new location. I'll configure the new Video App soon and start the manual migration.
@jgerock Mobile devices are a bit harder to deal with due to limited space, so more icons are used. A new version of the software is coming in about 3 months. It will bring a new UI. I know how much you guys love change , but it should make things a bit easier to use in both desktop and mobile views. I noticed a broken image for your avatar, and I could not find it in my storage, so I removed it. Please, feel free to add it again.

Funky goings on right now Steve. Cookie yea/nay bottom banner, no login response.
Also, the unread button on the bottom and the “show all responses thing” upper RH corner prompts a blank screen.
Not seeing the Cookie Banner problem. We have to implement a new one due to rule changes. So that is fun.
I documented the Unred Content as a bug, you can still get to all of that by going to Activities and use the top one.

I apologize for the downtime. We had some issues with the update that caused the site to be down longer than I hoped for. The incompatibility issue is resolved for now, and we are back to normal.

That user was banned at the start of the year because of suspicious activity abd thus all messages were deleted. That username is gone, but there will be others with similar posts.
We prevent about 99% of bad actors, but some get through. Thus the warning in the classifieds section.

Sun brought out over 20 cars for this annual even. Unfortunate we had to bring the support vehicle as I have not had a chance to figure out why the 1800 refuses to run well when warm.
Here are some photos from the morning gathering before the drive.
