See the Google Photos album below for photos! See the Wheelwell link for build information! Hey folks - just picked up a new job and unfortunately the car can't come with me. I'm certainly not happy about it, but that's how these things work. This is my second '02 - I've had this one since June of 2018 and have enjoyed the heck out of it. Engine swap began in August of last year but as projects go, I just got burned out on it and never reached the finish line. Why didn't I finish? Time. If I could go back I wish I'd just left the original M10 with blowby in it until it died . . . Disclaimer: the previous owner is responsible for any and all questionable aesthetic choices! The car hasn't always been my taste in 2002's aesthetically, which is partly the reason I burned out on the project. Here's a massive Google Photos album! Photos are sorted by date so scroll to the bottom for the most recent shots. Here's the registry entry. Here's a build list and short write-up. Most mechanical components related to the M10 have been removed. Installed is the following, on top of the original, non-drivetrain related components, listed here on my Wheelwell account: 1991 M42 from E30 318is with approximately 150k miles. All oil seals were replaced by me before the install. Don't have compression numbers but was told in confidence by a frequent r3vlimited member that it ran well upon him removing it from his car. Getrag 240 also from a 318is. Dual mass flywheel. Clutch and throwout bearing have a few thousand miles on them. New engine, transmission, and exhaust manifold from JakeB. New exhaust studs and nuts. New transmission mount bushings and OEM 2002 engine mounts. E30 318is driveshaft mated to matching LSD also from an E30 1991 M42 wiring harness, to be tied into 2002 harness per JakeB's instructions 1991 M42 ECU 1991 E30 fuel pump with return Needed to get the car running: Splice M42 harness into 2002 harness, and mount ECU in or near the glovebox. Install coil packs onto passenger fender, or do a coil-on-plug conversion Throttle cable rigging Return fuel line Slave cylinder attached to gearbox Downpipe fitted for O2 sensors Everything mechanical is already installed and ready to go, save for the slave cylinder and throttle cable. I have everything else needed to complete the swap including coil packs, fuel pump relay, ECU, MAF, et cetera. Don't the have O2 sensors, but that's about it. Heating and cooling system is taken care of, as is the mess under the intake. Included in the sale is the original M10 block with E21 head and dual Webers. Door cards, driver's side floor pan, extra turbo flares, beltline trim, license plate trim, and a few other miscellaneous interior bits are included. I've sold the intake manifold, water divider, and 245 five-speed. Pay asking price and I'll include a '74+ nose panel in what I believe is Atlantic. Please don't hesitate to shoot offers (and judgement) my way. PM me if you'd like to chat over phone. Cheers, Emmanuel H.

1969 BMW 2002 "roundie" This car has some minor rust around the doors and fenders as well as some bubbles on the roof. No structural rust. This car would make an excellent restoration candidate or a nice driver for those that like patina. Within the past month the car has received: -4 new tires -New wheel cylinders and brake shoes -Complete engine reseal (oil pan, upper&lower timing covers, valve cover, front crank seal, water pump and distributor housing. -Carburetor was disassembled for cleaning and a set of spark plugs were installed. -Trans mount -Oil and coolant flush I have been daily driving the car, it starts up and runs extremely well. with that being said, the car could use the following items: -Suspension overhaul (bushings feel worn and shocks are bouncy) -The trans needs a re-seal (engine is bone dry but the trans will let out a drop or two after driving) Link to more pictures: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-1YEsSAYG4Mlj9nPio1ymVfDOxp6yrIn

Hey, last Tuesday 9/8 my wife spotted a nice Fjord roundie at the intersection of NW 85th St and 24th Ave NW in Ballard/Crown Hill. We live down the hill on 24th. My vigilant wife (with the good memory) told me the plate no. was A0E0866. Anyone know whose car this is? Stu.

https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/d/1972-bmwk-obo/6601968119.html Over the past two weeks I've been traveling around the Southeast looking for a 2002. I sold my '76 Fjord a few weeks ago and already need to scratch the itch . . . anyways, this car is one of the ones I have driven. The owner was quite nice and burned a lot of his time to accommodate me, so I feel like I owe it to him to help sell it forward. The ad asks for $8000 or best offer, but we agreed to $6000 before I came to look at the car. Allegedly he bought it for $6200, so he's taking a cut at that price. The selling point on this car is the miraculous lack of rust. Just some bubbles on the hood, a dent on the hood where he closed it over something on the carb, and some severe (but repairable) spots by the rear windshield. What turned me off the car, however, was a clunking noise from the transmission while driving it. Seemed like the shaft was loose, but I didn't have the chance to take a look at it from underneath. Pros include the overall lack of rust, little to no oil leaks, electronic fuel pump, extra parts included. If you find yourself interested, PM me and I'm happy to discuss what I saw in detail.

1972 BMW 2002 - ROUNDIE - 4-SPEED - RUNS AND DRIVES - SUNROOF - NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE - $1995 - Text/Call 858-208-8449 or email colletti.charles@yahoo.com I know this is not the prettiest girl at the party but she has character and starts up every time; even after sitting for 12 years. Yes I have posted here before as well as ebay and then I pull the ad down as I just know I can make her look amazing again. I even have a show piece tii motor with all the accessories and 5-speed as I was planning on making her a tii tribute. But, I need the cash for my real tii and have to hope I can still afford a roundie when I am ready to do my tii tribute build. I am listing for sale for exactly what I paid earlier this year to FAQ members in hopes someone will see in her what I do. Get her before I change my mind again. Here are the details. This car has a numbers matching original engine. The rust looks worse than it is; some obvious rust in rear shock towers, the passenger side outer rocker panel and rear wheel well and the drivers side rocker has some rust too. It is just the outer rockers not the inner. Aside from that the frame rails, spare tire well and floor boards are pretty clean. I pulled the battery to charge it and the battery tray and entire engine bay is very dry and appears as if no front accident. Windows roll up and down, doors open with no problem, trunk and hood as well. I put some fresh gas in the tank and cleaned the carburetor and car runs and drives; shifts well with a good clutch and brakes, but the exhaust pipe is removed and has not been installed so very loud. Car hasn't been on the road in many years. Sunroof doesn't roll back and e-brake does not hold. Comes with clean Colorado title

Looks like a pretty cool dwelling & although I can't vouch for the house....that 02 parked out front seems to be a well thought choice -M

I am looking for a 2002 script badge for the rear of a '02 Roundie...'69 thru '73. Mounts on a flat surface, not the concave portion of the rear panel as on a square taillight car. The back of the badge would be recessed, not solid, similar to the ti badge in the pic.

Good morning all, This popped up on Jalopnik this morning. If you haven't seen their "Nice Price or Crack Pipe" segment it is pretty self explanatory, but they post a car for sale and the readers vote if it a good value or over priced. I just wanted to share because the car has what looks to have rust issues in a few areas and it is still getting voted 80%+ "Nice Price." Anywho, I think it is worth a look, also the comments are a good read. http://jalopnik.com/for-8-500-this-1971-bmw-2002-brings-some-neue-klasse-1693796489# -Robert

I have a guy near me parting a '68 2002. I have been thinking about picking up the tail lights as a spare set but can't find any for sale to get a handle on value. What are good examples going for these days? I'm also picking up the shorty bumpers. What are they going for? TIA
