Jim_75Sahara 272 Posted March 19, 2018 Nice!! That is a clone of Mike Self's 1969 Nevada 2002 by the name of Wolfgang. You two should talk. He's had it since he purchased it new in NY state. Share this comment Link to comment
mike 1,772 Posted March 20, 2018 Yeah, it does look familiar--it's a really late '69 or an early 70 as it has polished wheel covers, and most (if not all) the 69s had silver-painted wheel covers that gave 'em a frosted look. Of course the paint started to peel after about 9 or so months, so most owners just stripped the paint and polished 'em. According to my VIN listings it's the 40th from the last '69 1600 off the line. Any idea as to whether the wheel covers are original t the car? Nice car. Nevada looks good either clean or dirty, 'cause it's dirt colored. Just clean up the wheel covers and bumpers and the whole car looks clean! \mike Share this comment Link to comment
Geoff Raynak 104 Posted March 21, 2018 thx everyone! i'll look more closely through the binder to see if the covers are originals i think they were replaced at some point ... i remember seeing it in the binder during the purchase ... but don't remember the date it is registered and monikered as a 69 ... accoring to bmwgroup: Quote The BMW 1600 US VIN 1569746 was manufactured on June 26th, 1969 and delivered on July 01st, 1969 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City.
