My former 74 tii was a Frankenstein, it had been in several accidents with lots of bondo, some rust and welded on body parts. Instead of throwing money at it to fix it, I decided a fresh start was needed. I traded my 85 Euro spec E28 525e for a clean 74 tii So Cal shell. Before all the parts were moved from my Frankenstein tii into the shell, the shell was repainted in the original color (Sahara) and all US spec side marker lights were removed. The fabrication to convert from diving board to small bumpers was done prior to painting the car. All the parts were then moved from the Frankenstein tii into the newly repainted shell, drivetrain (E21 5-speed, LSD) , interior (E21 Recaro seats), and suspension. The tii has poly bushings, ST swaybars, Bilstein sports, Eibach springs on Amil (made in Belgium) 15X7 ET25 wheels with Yoko 195/50 Advan Fleva tires, (Rota RB, and Centra type 11 wheels have been sold). Engine was rebuilt a few years ago to Euro tii specs (9:5 compression ratio). My first 02 was a Euro spec 75 Sahara 1802 that I had while in the Air Force stationed in Germany in the early 80's. I wanted my tii to look like my first 02 (Euro spec look) minus the 13" wheels. Car even has a crack free one piece Euro spec 02 dash (no fasten seatbelt billboard) and Euro spec cluster. Fun car to drive.
