Conversion to Lynx with Weber 45 close-up of throttle shaft

Tombonetoo

Did not like the cable throttle arrangement - so engineered a new bracket and modified/fitted the old throttle shaft with a flexible coupler that attaches directly to the DCOE throttle shaft using a bronze threaded bushing, set screw and compression fitting.

I had removed a finely tuned Weber 38/38 from this nearly stock engine - except for its Tii exhaust and programmable electronic ignition. I love the "coolness factor" of this Lynx 45 sidedraft setup, but to be honest, there is not a noticeable difference in performance to the 38/38 I had. In fact, in my view, the 38/38 has a higher "streetability factor" - quieter with stock air filter setup, available cold start choke mechanisms, use of stock vac advance distributor, etc. BUT, the engine room was not as sexy as it is now. Took the car to car show Saturday night and came home with a class winner plaque - beat out a couple of Porches, MBs, Jaquars and assorted Asian iron.
