I like the look without the front bumper. I'm going to install turbo flares,

NOOOOOOoooooooo

lol why?? I love the look

Turbo flares don't belong on roundies ( they came on factory turbos 74 only or a square TL car ).

I caught you eying that gray and red roundie with the wide 13 steelies at Brisbane, it was about perfect.

If you must flare pig cheeks or alpina bubbles.

True dat!!

And with the fender pulling (especially in the rear, where they split the sheet metal away from the inner well) he got nearly as much width out of the car as a smaller flare (like the Alpina ones)... But the car looks stock from even 5 feet away!

Definitely support the sleeper look for your roundie and keeping the 75 for your flared-race look.

Oh man I really hope you decide not to sell your 75 and put the flares on that instead, that car is way to unmolested and original to cut up.

2nd that. Then you could put the bumper back on too.

Dude - me too!! That stance was the shiz! And the vintage racer look was rad... You could do something similar, only instead of Bristol, you could be Nevada... Now the only question is - if you did a stripe, what would the color be??

What goes good with Nevada, and would give that late-60's Racer look?

Personally, I'm going to paint my 75 Pastelblau/Inka in a Gulf Oil scheme..

Im kinda thinking Nevada lower and roof then have matte black hood, trunk and below the side windows with pulled fenders.

That could be rad... And you know - you can get that matte black "Alpina" look with a stick-on black vinyl rather than paint.. It looks completely like paint and if you ever want to sell the car to a purist, you can just pull it off and voila! Perfectly preserved Nevada paint underneath!

Oooo, another thought.. What if it was a reallllly dark brown? Like a dark chocolate brown? Might go better with the Nevada and the Saddle interior but still have that look... Just thinking out loud..

Oh- and before you pull those fenders, talk to Mojojoy (Daniel, I think his name is) about how they did it. Verrry cool guy!

Peace.

Since I won't be doing turbo flares for fear of someone shooting me I think I may get 15x7 Rota RB's with a et25 offset and some 205/50 tires.

Lol...

Possibly, but that's a lot of tire to push around if you're not running a turbo or something...

Maybe some 13x7's would be rad... Get the original steelies widened!! Then you can run the small hubcaps on the centers and still have a deep dish peeking out...

Mmmmm, deep dish....

I got some 13x8 Diamond racing steelies that I was gonna use for my track wheels. I've since decided to run 15x8 because tires are much cheaper for drifting. They don't have tires on them but I could bring them by so you can see how they would fit. They are 13x8 with 5" backspacing which is the same as et12.

Edit: just saw you are in Sacramento... thats pretty far. When I have time I'll throw them on my car and take some pictures.

It's all about momentum

I am rebuilding a '74 and could use those bumpers if you want to sell them. Let me know....

Brisbane was my first meet and really enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who organized it. Sorry it's only once a year!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
