M10 oil supply pump

Thanks, CD.

In the aftermarket, the Febi pump was $150 and is now N/A.

(Not NLA, yet, just 'out of stock.)

Which makes me sad and poor, since it worked just fine.

One more little push to make me dry- sump the race car...

What is so special about this particular pump or part number?

Is there no substitude? Just trying to learn.

Ouch. Funny, this may be the only time I've ever seen the RealOEM price equal with the dealership :-)

Seems like you can get parts for the pumps, have you guys rebuilt one to reliable standards?

Bavarian Autosport (bavauto.com) is advertising the pump for $335.95 on their site. They also sell P.N. 11 41 1 286 493 for $199.95. This pump is used in the 320i. The one I have came out of a 79. I have taken both pumps apart and the only significant difference I see is the oil pick-up housing. These don't wear and are interchangeable.

There used to be 2 or 3 aftermarket pumps- the Febi works well, with the

caveat that the oil relief plunger would start to stick after about 10 years.

I liked to treat them like bearings when I rebuilt a motor-

just put in a new pump and be happy.

At that price, I start to get frugal... and that never seems to work out.

I always regret it afterwards.

Oh, well. Just bitchin'.
