Finally found a rubber cover for the coil. I feel so much better now. And heat shield socks on the ignition cables.... ahhh

Actually, my Tii has e30 318 electronic ignition and the Bosch factory issued coil does have a rubber cover on the business end. Don't have the plug wire doilies however.

the two wires that connect to the + & - posts are under the cover. If you want the cover to also cover the boot of the ignition cable, you'd have to run the cable through and then attach the boot. Maybe the 320 cover opening is larger, to allow you to get the boot through the cover, but not on this one. I was more interested in getting the exposed + & - posts covered. It's as water proof as I will ever need like this.

Excuse my ignorance but what is that aluminum thermos with the filter thing next to the rad? Looks hi tech but wot is it?

Is fuel efficiency really what we need most desperately? I say what we really need is a car that can be shot when it breaks down.

It's a catch can. The Valve cover vents into it, instead of the carb's air filter. Oil vapor collects in it, and you drain it every 2-3k miles.
