silicone for poly bushings

OK...so this probably is a dumb ass question. I have nice new poly bushings for my control arms from IE and also swaybar bushings. Sooooooo, I have this lube also. Exactly what am I lubing and where do I lube it.

how bout points of contact metal to rubber

coat the bushings before you install them

My understanding is that the main reason is to eliminate squeaking, so yes all contact surfaces.

Common sense: It would have to be between bushing and metal.

Purpose for any specialized lubricant: smooth installation and hopefully avoid damage to bushings AND to avoid squeaks.

As has been said, any point where the poly will rub on something else.

Also, get yourself some teflon tape (home depot plumbing aisle, some hobby shops, etc, also called ptfe tape) and wrap the swaybar with a layer where the bushing touches it. Squeek free for years so far, on two different cars!
