I had a number of posts on the various ALPINA 3 Piece Wheels they offered over the years. Thought it would be good to show what they actually look like mounted on a BMW 2002 - pretty crazy looking really. In the next few weeks I will be opening up a store on one or more of the blogs offering some scans I have collected over the years (for a nominal amount) Group (GRP>) 2 FIA Homologation Papers (#5358, #5331, #1550), Schnitzer 20-4 catalogue, ALPINA A4 tuning and more.

Also just posted up an old ALPINA catalogue sheet with A2, A3, A4 etc. stuff

Mark,

I just want to say 'thank you' for documenting these precious bits of history and sharing them with the 02 community on your blog. They are a fascinating chronicle of BMW racing technology from the 1970s and can only add to the legend of the 02 series.

I enjoy putting up things that in some cases folks have never seen or heard of, alot of folks alot younger than me probably don't know about the racing history of the 02 and other BMW's. I am really hoping people follow along and contribute as well.

Hi Mark

Why don't you set-up a "private club/foundation", with the purpose of helping you restore the racecar? I will be happy to contribute, while at the same time I'd receive an nice CD with pictures.

The finished car would be displayed with a banner including the names of all the donators. I can even supply such banner. Your blog could accept contributions directly thru Paypal, while donators get to follow the progression of the restoration. That would be like "adopting" a kid in Africa...

Lee, not a bad idea, although I recognize as well as anyone how tough times are-which is one reason why right now I spend more time writing than I do working on the car - haven't touched it in probably 3-4 months. I will email you off line.
