i am looking to buy new headers.

the step up headers on Ireland eng.

whats so good about the step up header?

i am also rebuilding my exsaust pipes i will have striaght pipes until a magnaflow muff in the back.

my other question is...

what is the difference in performance if i get the 2.5 inch header and make all my pipes including the muff 2.5 inches or if i got the 3 inch header and made all the pipes muff included 3 inch?

is there a power gain? loss?

any suggestions or tips?

im runnin a weber 32/36 also if that makes a difference.

thanks folks.

A few things.....2.5 inch or 3 inch...if you have anything but a race motor the 3 inch will lose power...not enough back pressure. as far as straight pipes and magnaflow...that will be LOUD...unbearable...rethink that system. I have 2 magnaflows and headers and I am desperately looking for a new muffler...at 65 mph its almost deafening. Got pulled over for noise as well.

Read Corky Bell's book on turbos - Maximum Boost (ISBN: 0-8376-0160-6)

He says 2.25" is pleanty big for up to 150bhp, 2.5" for up to 200bhp.

I would not go over 2.25" - 2.5" will loose too much power - FORGET 3".
