I was going to propose that we do this on Saturday the 27th. My wife and kids will be out of town for Spring Break which would allow me to host the group and not have to worry about how long things end up going. You guys will just need to be able to put up with my 3 labs.

Plus, I am pretty confident that we will receive some salt clearing rain between now and then,

Also....that will give the road crews some time to get those potholes repaired. We don't need anymore of us hitting those....right ClayW?

>>I think waiting until the 27th to let the salt and roads clear makes sense for me... is that the current thinking?

I like the 27th -- weather hopefully will be cooperative and the roads are getting cleaner (just watch the potholes)!

Think Marjorie will like the idea of stuff moving out of our basement sooner rather than later as well!

Some credit for this idea needs to go to the TV show "Hoarders" on TLC. I got halfway through an episode and started pulling stuff out of the basement!

I'm there, assuming it's the 27th or the 13th; I'm out of town the 20th. Keep me posted.

Should I bring my collection of bottlecap wheels, or is no one interested?

If anyone has an early (pre-74) 4.5 inch stock steel wheel in decent shape, please bring it on the 27th. My spare is actually a 5" tii early steelie and I am looking to round out a matching set 4.5" stock steelies.

Thx, Marc

Alrighty then.....

Let's get this thing locked down for the 27th. I was thinking that 11AM might be a good meeting time. But, I am open for suggestions.

I'll ask Dennis to change the thread title to show the date and time after I get the time firmed up.

Agree with JG, please let me know what I can bring. I will happily bring cold beer or some type of food. Thanks for hosting.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
