engine and drivetrain How many qts does the automatic transmission take from empty

I did a search on fluids and automatic transmission fluid, and no threads came up. Please I am installing the donor transmission tomorrow, I just got finished dropping the old tranny. What is the best brand of ATF fluid to use? I have heard regular ATF fluid isnt the best. Is it type F? or Dextron?

Initial fill is 9.5 U.S. pints of Dexron

With oil cooler, 10.9 pints

All quantities are listed as "approx."

automatics are getting a lot of love these days !

some extra oil if you have the oil cooler circuit

most important point - is refill s l o w l y,

putting it in all the gears for a few seconds

between each pour of more fluid - never over-fill

above the upper FULL mark when HOT!
