hey i was thinking about what to do with my o2s trunk.

i love o2s and how there designed but i have a big imagination and was wondering if anyone out there in the o2 world has made/fit a rear spoiler for it. what kind of spoilers are there for o2s already? i was thinking of something kinda like a old 80s mr2 or rx7 kinda stuff were it looks like its gonna transform into a japanese robot and shoot lazers... i also love the turbo style body kit setup for these cars but not to fond of the spoiler made for them... im also thinking of tactical stratagy on a race track or in a street race as far as helping the control...

anyways just something i was day dreaming about...

got pics?

It's not going to do anything unless it's pretty tall. The '02 is so aerodynamically inefficient and the only way to get clean air through the spoiler(only way for it to be worth while) is to get it up high and far back like the old school high hp cars had. My assumption is even these are kind of a shot in the dark, CFD modeling is very complex(didn't have it back then) and wind tunnels are very very expensive.

I like this one.

What ever you install will provide you with no driving benefit unless your car has a high output motor and is already significantly faster than stock. Instead of spending the 100-300$ on a fashion accessory, put it towards better tires, suspension, or brake modifications.

If you really must have the look, so be it, but don't think it's going to help handling.[/img]

cool! i got some pretty neat ideas.

and some good education as the last guy siad i dont need it unless its high hp. i have my car set up pretty basic 32/36 and headers a 320lsd and gas-ajusts are all thats workin on my side as far as hp and control is concerned. my biggest deal was just kickin those honda civic and integras ASSES!!!!! i didnt know much about spoilers and what they do. they just look cool i guess. i was gonna worry about the looks after i got everything else nice anyways.

i like the snow one that was cool hahaha

thanks guys

The one great thing about a 2002 is the hidden factor. You can do so much under the hood and drive train that is hidden from view and no one can tell you have a kick ass car until your 3 cars lengths in front of them and they can't believe that "thing" just beat them off the line.

3.91 Limited slip diffs are great for that.

what kind of things under the hood are we talking about?

i know the fact that it is str8 pipes is a advantage but its a sohc engine.. i dont know much but every one tells me that dohc owns on anything sohc and that sohc is a dinosaur... it makes me feel uncomfident and sad. i know there is power in my engine but sometimes i feel like if it was dohc it would be better.. what can i do to my engine that will match a dohc???

or am i just being ignorant and sohc can have its advantages over dohc?

idk idk.

You can notice a difference on track with a small wing like mine installed on deck lid. Difference can just be noticed on highspeed corners at over 120kmh. And it leaves a question if better stability is from increased downforce or increased air resistance thus slower speed. Haven't been able to measure difference in laptime.
