Baby, its cold outside

Northfield, Minnesota

Woke up this morning and the indoor/outdoor thermometer said it was -27 degrees.

I'm in the shop pulling the left trailing arm off of the '73- some genius PO ripped thru it with a tow hook.

Then on to installing a new center bearing, Esty carpet, Recaros and a new console. Boxes of new parts in the trunk, Summit Great Northern Porter in the fridge and about 12 more weekends to get it done before it melts enough to get the car out, just in time for True Friends in AR.

Up here, our cars are more than a hobby, they are the best antidote for Cabin Fever.

Baby, its cold outside.

That makes me feel like the 24 (above) we hit last night is not so bad - but it feels bad to us Southerners. But I wish I had a nice warm shop for my projects.

I've got to insulate my garage next fall. I was working on the M2 the other night when it was 5 F, and a digital readout on a tool stopped working! I also noticed last night that the water in the bottom of my compressor tank froze, because nothing came out when I went to drain the compressor at the end of the evening!

The winter is nice in the north, I don't need an excuse NOT to do any yard work, and can instead spend the time on my bimmer.

It's killing me too Mike.

I can't get up enough gumption to even get in the heated garage.

I just let a four day weekend go to waste. Now I'm just laying around waiting for work tomorrow.

Most I got accomplished this weekend was whacking a couple of garden hoses with my snow blower.

it's 48 now supposed to get to 23 on Thursday with Snow? I guess I'll have to turn on the heat in the garage. Car's cold also, looped the coolant trying to find the time for the dreaded heater box refurb.

Yea, it is tough. Just came in from the carport where I was working on wife's ' 76. It's only 71º here today, no wind, and 12% humidity. "Life's a bitch, etc."

Bob Napier

Correction to the stats above: Weather channel says humidity was 9%.

Dont forget to add the 80 C T-stat to your list, you should do just fine with that installed to keep you nice and warm!!

I think it was about 50 today in the Mile High City of Albuquerque!! Got to love living in the Hi Desert!

e30 heating system will melt lead at full blast on recirc! and yea, there is no reason to use anything other than an 80c thermo under any circumstances. 80c is 176deg F and minimum operating temp is 190. i dont even know why they have lower-value thermos for sale. if you need the termo on sooner than 176, you have other problems to address....
