LADY NEEDS HELP

HAD CAR 30 YEARS

MOST PEOPLE SAY DUMP THE CAR....

BUT OF COURSE, I LOVE MY BIMMER!!!!!!!!!! CLEARLY!

Darlene

What exactly is the point of your post? Your other post asks that someone doesn't steal from you? Is this April 1, so soon after Christmas?

You need help? What help? Encouragement? Free parts and labor? If you are seeking a second or sixth opinion, try posting pictures.

Have you obtained any estimates from legitimate body shops? Post them too.

If your car is a basket case, what are you really expecting? Someone to volunteer free labor and parts that are worth more than the car's total value? What are you offering in return?

sorry.....for the caps.

regarding the above post....

excuse me for sounding foolish...

I would like to find someone to do the paint and bodywork for around 5k.

Hopefully from using this board, I can find someone near the South Bay area of LA.

I have had my car for 30 years, but my attention has been on the engine and tranny....she has been pretty much always on the road...kinda ugly but very very fast!

Clearly, I love my car and now is the time for some paint and TLC.

If u wanna spend 4-5k I have a guy in Venice that is AMAZING. He redid my Carrera, I called him and he was very familiar with 2002s. Does amazing body and paint.

His shop is Culver City Customs, and his name is Raj 310-202-1555. He would be able to give you an amazing paint job for 3-5k depending on the current condition.

DO you have any pics of it now?

There is a guy in OC. He will come up and give you a quote, if you are serious. He only does old car restorations. He is currently working on my car and another guys 2002. He is a one man show and will work within your budget. I will have my project done in soon, so you can check those pics out.

Contact me or call him

Try Coupe King in Wilmington. Peter isn't always cheap but he does first class work. His shop is right off of PCH near Alameda. If his bid is out of your price range, he'll give you some referrals. Bring your car by his shop and you'll get to see numerous 2002's, coupes and Bavaria's being worked on.

  • 3 weeks later...

Darlene 5K is a good budget, IMO. Your car should done with windows out, around engine bay (maybe not engine out), trunk, all rust gone with metal replacement, all side markers gone and trim (if you want it gone), and 2 stage paint job (with sand to metal all the way around).

I'm no expert in this area (or any area 2002 wise), but that would be my understanding. I have no connection to the guy working on my car other than he has done a great job on my cars (323i and 02) and is honest.
