Why am I short here? Rear lense housing. PIC

This is the rear taillight housing. I can't tighten down the outer screw. I'm short on the outer side of each housing. The screws have not been cut. I must be doing something wrong. Thanks

Can you give a wider shot? You may have them turned around a bit. Will they fit the other way?

I know there's a left and right. The way it's wired keeps you from getting them mixed up. One won't reach to the other side. So that's not the problem.

1. There's a slot in the bottom of the bulb housing that fits into a slot that's where two body seams meet (quarter panel and rear panel). And there's the wire and it's clip, that sometimes gets in the way when you're reinstalling the tail light.

The slots are lined up properly and no wires in the way.

The stud lengths in the chrome trim ring are different lengths to compensate for the different thicknesses in the inner bulb housing. You have to match them up. Are you sure you don't have r/l sides mixed or maybe installed upside down?

More info. The picture you show should have the long stud from the outside chrome ring for proper fitment. Someone may have substituted a short stud or the chrome ring is from the wrong side.

DaveR - that is what I am suspecting but without a better picture it is hard to tell. He may just have either the lens or the reflector rotated incorrectly.

Oh, that one's easy- just google 'taillight stud viagra' and buy some

from a reputable vendor. There are many.

Yeah, the ring's rotated... 180 it for more stud!
