Jeff Hecox, super "sano" 02 racecar. Last I recall he was still at Dinan in Mountain View has as you can see a vast collection of rare 02 race parts including a few CR 5spds and what not. He was racing that car years ago in the "B" sedan group and as I recall got all sorts of grief for running fuel injection so I think he relented and changed to carbs (and still won quite a few races). His ALPINA A4 set up looks like it came straight out of the box. Adjustable rear suspension very nice, necessary for a competitive 02 - nearly (nearly) reminds me of mine :)

Mark any idea what issues he was running into with the injection that prompted going to carbs?

I love that suspension work- I downloaded every shot related to the body and suspension. I also am thinking of running dual master cylinders in that location instead of trying to squeeze everything in down low at the pedal box. Thanks for the link Michael!

Don't recall all the specifics, had to do with what sounded like "whiners" that were racing in the then Trans AM 2.5 challenge (which I now believe is defunct) complaining that trans am cars did not use fuel injection. The rules I believe for cars to be modified as far as FIA Grp. 2 1972/3 specs which of course the likes of ALPINA and others were clearly using slide throttle ("Flachschieber") fuel injection systems during that period. I think he got so tired of catching crap from the others he put together another motor - maybe a Schrick 336 + 50 mm webers and basically cleaned all of their clocks. Funny thing is that Miller & Norburn was using a Schnitzer injected engine in one of their IMSA Camel GT 2002's in '74-'75. Funny how in some of these little race groups people get so petty, not like any of them were going after the "Lemans" title or making a living from racing.
