Got under the car tonight to find out why i get harmonic feeling vibrations from it over 2000rpm. Looks like the guibo thing seems solid and in good shape. the bearing looking support for the shaft is missing th eentire center. the shaft can be easily picked up and wiggled around....what is this part and it's cost?

Is there an old thread on replacing it?

that would be a center support bearing, soak those bolts good before attempting to take them out..

When you take the driveshaft apart to replace the center bearing, don't forget to mark the two halves of the driveshaft for alignment when reinstalling....you want to make sure it stays properly balanced.

I called my mechanic, told me if i bring the shaft to him he will install the support bearing and u-joints for 50 bucks..I think I will go that route

extra dollars and replace the guibo at the same time. With the center bearing support gone, the driveshaft wobbling around has been causing the guibo to flex more than it's designed to do, and you probably have a failure coming down the road. Since you're going to have the driveshaft out anyway, there's virtually no additional labor involved...............
