SOT: New project

Well, I can't resist a good deal and when I see one I jump on it. I had known about this local car for 5 years and tried to buy it back then, but the owner was not selling. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and I saw it on eBay. Poor description, bad photos, and a high auction starting price equalled no sale in 2 listing attempts. '73 3.0CS original Verona car, black leather, sunroof, A/C.

I swooped in and made the owner a lowball offer that he accepted a few days later because the mechanic who was storing the car, for the last 3 years, was putting it out on the streets of Philadelphia...not a good idea...

Here is my trusty partner (Stone) and old faithful (his 1984 Suburban tow vehicle that has towed countless numbers of cars). Car now sitting on ice (literally) in our warehouse...car has been sitting for the better part of the last 10 years being driven only a couple of times, but had almost $3k of service performed in 2006. Have to work out some carb issues and try to fire it up.

By the way, steering wheel and rims are coming off and will be for sale.

I've always admired these cars... really beautiful. They lose the "nerdy-cool" factor of the '02 but they are beautiful. Can I ask the rude question of what was your lowball offer that he took? Idle curiosity really.

Congrats on a beautiful new project and on keeping another one on the road where it should be.

Beautiful car! I'd love to own one of those one day. I'm sure you made a great deal.

By the way, steering wheel and rims are coming off and will be for sale.

That's a good idea to begin with!
