I need the part number for the Return Pipe for a 1971 standard o2. I am in the process of installing dcoe 40's and if anyone knows of a place and a part # i could purchase this part and anyother parts i might need to finish this project i would be grateful.

I assume you are talking about the coolant return pipe (from the heater outlet to water pump). Use the later 320i pipe after '79 (11.53.1.266.817) and the corresponding short connecting hose (11.53.1.266.472). The original ti pipe is also available (Michael Cahsel), but I think the 320i pipe fits much better. It has a small nib on one end that you must plug (or weld), but has a tab for securing the line to the engine block.--Jim

i had forgotten that i had bought a return pipe (a while back) but the part number is different then the one you said i should get, will this one work 11 53 1 264 718 and if it does, do i need to get a different hose then the one that you listed or will the one you listed work fine with my return pipe thanks again

I was told to use the pipe for model year after '79 and it fits fine. Your number is for the pipe before '79 and I do not know what the exact difference would be. Try a dry fit with yours and see. The short rubber connecting hoses to the water pump are different for each pipe (which might indicate a difference in tubing sizes between the two).--Jim
