Time to Play Guess the Wire(s)

Moving ever so slowly in restoring the wiaring and I came upon two-1 plug wires in the engine bay that are of heavy gauge and black and white stripe.

One of the is by the brake fluid reservoir the other is by the radiator. One plug has a male recepticle the other has a female.

Can either one be used as the elusive 12 volt source when the ignition is on?

The other is a "+" shape plug, located near the fire wallclose to the gear box. My guess is that it was for an automatic tranmission connection, am I right?

I am trying to track down these so that I won't have to bother you guys that much, any advise (CD Diesel, where are you?) that you can give to this "Grasshopper" I will gratefully be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

Justin

The question is not that we broke a few rules or took certain liberties with our female guests.

We did ;)

The only automatic-specific wires I'm aware of are the four wires that go to the neutral-safety switch (Green/white, blue/black, black/brown, and brown). They all end in female spade-type connectors. It's possible the one you found could go to the shifter indicator lights, but I think the wires for that are under the dash on the cockpit side of the firewall, though I'm not positive.

If you know how to use a volt/ohm meter or even a 12V test light, you ought to be able to determine for yourself the exact voltage and conditions for the particular wiring. If it is dependent upon or controlled by the ignition switch, then why not trace the wiring to its source for an answer.

Relying on the color and gauge of the wiring can be misleading and wrong if the wiring has been modified or incorrectly attached.

What's the deal Umberto,

Just because I typed this in the middle of the night after working on trying to figure this wiring nightmare out, do you really have to be the "school-marm" with the spell check? FYI, I try to send questions right after working on the car while the issue is fresh in my mind. Needles to say a word is going to slip once in a while.

As for testing, I am putting thing piece meal as I can find the parts or can find the answers. Since "so many" have done wiring re-dos, I would like quick simple answers to quick simple questions so I can move on to more important concerns with the wiring.

Finally, as I have alluded to before, I have no experience, no understanding of electrical issues other that changing batteries or fuses. Don't really know what to do wtih the multimeter, and since teh Parker Performance harness does use the 3 prong-plug under the dash, I am hopping and pretty sure that someone can chime in (besides you) and have the answer.

Just because you got slapped on the hand from you teachers in school for incorrectly asking question in you parochial (see I can spell) upbringing, does not mean you can spread your attitude as you like, (remember, 2 way street around here). Looking forward to your questions.
