Replacement headliners

Recommended Posts

I need a new headliner for my restoration project and need some advice from fellow FAQers.

I've checked out eBay, and see a company named Go Liners sells them for around $129 at their "Buy it Now" price.

Does anyone have any experience with these folks...or their products?

I was also wondering if anyone knew of another resource where we can buy a headliner. I'd ike to install a wool headliner if not too much out of line price-wise.

Thanks,

I knew Esty would chime in for G0-liners. They seem to have a good reputation.

A few years ago, the OEM stuff from BMW was fairly priced. Check with Blunt. Of course, the headliner material may have gone to stupid-pricing by now.

Many years ago, I got mine from World Upholstery. Price was good as was the quality. Not wool, but regular vinyl.

Sounds as if I won't have a problem finding a replacement headliner.

Does anyone know if Go Liners...or the other two vendors sell OE or NOS headliners, or is a reproduction the only type I'm likely to find?

Any sources for wool headliners, or will that be a special order?

Thanks,

I bought my OEM headliner from my local dealer just 3 months ago for three dollars cheaper than your quote. Maximillian sells for $136 I believe.

My notes on headliners says World Upholstery sells wool headliners, but this is unverified.

I'll check with BMW of Chattanooga tomorrow and see what availability is.

Hi Jim,

I bought mine from this guy and had a local shop install it. I was very pleased with the material. There was extra material sent as well. enough to do my A-pillars and the piece that goes up behind the back seat.

I will say, I've seen his prices fluctuates some, so the next headliner he has MAY come back down to $99 or $109.

Also where I thought the headliner was white, these are off white, but I spoke with him and he said off white is what is original.

I'm coming to Chattanooga Saturday, we could meet and would be glad to show you a sample of it.

I am to the point where I driving her a few miles on the weekend, but a couple more months until I drive her any real distance. I do have the piece behind the back seat out and waiting on speakers to put in along with still trying to find a radio that will fit the depth with A/C.

I don't know if were going to have someone install the liner or not, but I did check with this company in Chattanooga back in the spring and they seemed to be reasonable and know what they were doing.

After the headliner went back in, used this mobile glass company in Chattanooga to replace my front window and had them re-install the rear window.

Thanks for the links Ron...as it turns out, I have someone to install the headliner as part of putting the car back together.

Once I find a good headliner, I'll be set.
