The NK cars were extremely important to the eventual developement of the 2002 and successive models. They were the first fully designed vehicle produced by BMW with their new design and production team, after the Quant family takeover saved BMW from buyout by Merecedes. The NK cars had the first M-10 engine and suspension that eventually was incorporated to the 2002. The M-10 went from 1500 to 1800 to 2000 cc interations and included the first ti and tii asperated motors, that were later, of course, also used in the 1602 and 2002. The NK cars were produced from 1962 to 1970 and were a huge financial success for BMW in Germany and set the course for the next decade of BMW's. I really would like to own one some day.

Did you happen to find that pic in the ebay auction for the Talbot knockoff mirrors? I had a laugh over it, as the seller claims they're made in Germany, the in half the pics, you can clearly see the 'made in Taiwan Peoples Republic of China' stickers!
