1.8l what to do with it?

i have a running motor out of a 83 320i sitting here at the house. what to do with it? its not like there is a big market for them. so should i strip it and see what i can make out of it with little to no cash or what? if i where to just dump it into my 02 i have the full k jet with it or just swap over to weber 40's? or just use it as a paper weight?

Go to a junkyard and pull a small turbo out of something? That seems like it'd be fun....

strip the k jet stuff off and sell it to the e21 kids, save the motor and carb it, or strip it and sell the crank, rods and pistons , head and flywheel. Make about 200 beans

Run it with the CIS or run it with a carb. The 1.8 runs really smooth and is a nice motor over all. Ask Randy Molson how he likes his.

I'm with Harv...the engine is very smooth, has a shorter stroke than the 2.0 so it revs well, has 9.3:1 compression stock, and uses a significantly lighter version of the 215mm flywheel (if you've got it). I've got one in my green car and I have no complaints.

...not the 320 motor- it's in the 8's somewhere.

It's a noticable chunk lighter than a 2002 motor.

Yeah Toby, you're right...8.8:1 in the E21 M10B18 and 9.3:1 in the E30 M10B18. I'm running the 9.3's
