Italian Turbo Wheel Centercaps

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a set of Italian market optional alloys that came without centercaps. The guy I got them from said they were a different size from the standard FPS alloys. Does anyone know where to get a set of centercaps or even a picture of what they look like? The diameter is 60mm and the depth of the lip is about 12-13mm.

Also if there are any wheel gurus out there that have more info on these wheels they could pass on it would be great. All I have been able to find out is that they were an optional alloy for the Italian market only. The pics are from my phone as the wheels are getting stripped and refinished. They are in such good condition that I am just evening out the cast finish by bead-blasting and clearing them with a satin sheen clear. I think they will turn out amazing and you will still be able to see the as-cast mold details.

Thanks for the info. I have also been talking to Jaymic and they recommended trying the centercap from the steels wheels or the plastic Alpina caps. I picked up a steel wheel cap for $5 to try, I really don't want a plastic cap if I can help it. Anyone have any other pictures of these wheels or anymore information on them?

Those are really beautiful wheels. Finding center caps that compliment them is always a challenge. I went through the same thing with some vintage Minilite style wheels last year. None of the wheel folks were able to find anything that looked period appropriate. I ended up going with the plastic caps, but painted them titanium silver to avoid the plastic look. I'm pretty satisfied with the compromise.

Neat - true craftsmanship in design and casting! (but better have a set of 7 different brushes and a the super-size elbow grease to keep 'em clean ;) But given how little I get to drive the tii (sniff sniff) they likely wouldn't get very dirty. I'm on a mission to get the factory alloys shod (can't findAVID T4s darn it) and on the car to replace the campys for now.
