I got to go to his estate, it opens up to the public for roughly 2 weeks out of the year, and it is absolutley amazing! Harold Lemays was a collecting junkie, anything and everything!

If you have the chance, I would highly recommend the tour

The place has not been built yet. I have seen the private collection that will be rotated through the museum and it is absolutely fantastic.

The BMWCCA Puget Sound chapter has had several private gatherings there.

When I said "the place has not been built yet", I was referring to the new museum to be built near the Tacoma Dome, next to and visible from Interstate 5. I think of Lemay's old place as more of a collection then a museum. And yes, that is claimed to be the largest privately owned car collection in the world. The Lemay family operates a garbage collection business. What a perfect way to keep an eye out for collectible cars.

This is not a museum but one Gentleman's collection a couple hours from me.

He opens his garage to the public once a year in the spring.

Might as well be a museum.
