The Touring needs two things: A period correct Blauplunkt to run a ipod and all the booklets from the factory to fill up the glove box.

Great find indeed! I'm curious just how you plan to wire your ipod through a factory blaupunkt.. I've got a great working unit, but am so tempted to get some offensive looking single-din stereo so I can listen to my rap music.

Seriously though, I would love to stay OEM.. you planning to just use an FM transmitter?

1972 is a great year for a vintage BMW. They have round tail lights and the euro bumpers. The touring you got is a sweet ride. Really rare in the states, RHD too... Pretty cool. I think 72-73 are landmark years for BMW with the 2002s, Tii, Ti... Great year, awsome find, enjoy!

make sure you throw on some of those rare polished Rota's with low-profile tires, and get all the "upgrades"! - you already got euro turn signal lenses and shaved side markers from the factory, so at least you don't have to worry about those must-have mods...
