7" Hella H4's don't fit in my original headlight bucket

Hi All,

I have a 74 tii (US) with the original Hella headlight buckets that housed my Sylvania 7" 2D1 headlights perfectly. I tried to install brand new 7" H4's and the 3 tabs do not line up with the slots on the bucket. I clipped the tabs off of the H4's and the H4 will fit in the bucket however very loosely even with the outer bracket screwed tight. Any thoughts/recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

The little tabs should line up with where the bumps were on the old headlamps. The ones I just put in fit fine after I bent the tabs a little.

Without the tabs, the H4 housings will sit too far in the bucket and the clamping ring won't hold them tight. You'll either have to solder on new tabs that line up with the gaps in the buckets, find new housings, or make something custom.

Beat to fit, paint to match.
