Sub Enclosure & Speaker Kick Panels+Esty carpet integrat

59 posts in this topic

I just added this to the end of Josh's project blog abd copied it here.. I want to be clear on the subject. I have fielded a few questions after some viewed his blog.

Only due to some adverse reactions and the consequential questions I have received since, I just want to clarify that the trimming in this particular installation was necessary to reuse the original kick panel area carpets. The amount of trimming from the panels is nearly the exact same surface ares as the bump out created to provide room for a speaker. This is why I advertise a carpet cover being available from Esty.

So, while it is possible to reuse carpets found in the car naturally, the design was intended for use with another cover, whether from Esty or otherwise..

Any one got another set of these?

Any color would work but a tan or black is what I want.

Please email back. 1971Ginger@gmail.com

Thanks

My first time at this site and so apologies if I'm doing this wrong. By the way you can contact me by email or phone (603)-938-2325. I have a 67 1600 that's 95 % restored except the interior which is all original and badly needs work. I need to redo the carpets carpets again. Many years ago I tried to quiet the car so I could hear my new stereo while driving and so I gutted the interior, put down a layer of heavy sound deadening adhesive stuff and over that some pink foam material. Over that I put new carpet from Bavarian Auto and the result was a disappointment because while the sound was slightly less the improvement didn't nearly match my effort and the carpet fastening up the firewall didn't happen happily and it looks terrible, keeps falling down and bunching up behind the throttle petal. In summary I'm finally ready to tackle this again and do better this time! I need side front speaker area carpets. They are mix matched and one is ripped. I saw your speaker area panels and they look great. My seats need re-doing and the skirting pieces that cover below the dash to the floor are trash bin ready. Please let me know if any of the above are services you might be interested in collaborating with me on. Because my carpet set was so poor in quality (soft but too thin, not durable) I was going to make my own from tougher material and make them longer (up the firewall) so the installation had better fastening purchase and would not fall down for lack of it, but it seams (bad joke) like I'm crossing a boundary of expertise as sewing is not a massive strength area for me.
