Just noticed the blurb for this event in the "events" section of the forum. Sounds like a great event is developing. Some of my Brit car friends attended the British Invasion event, at Stowe, a couple of weeks ago and provided glowing reports of the region and it's back roads. Maybe I'll take the wife & the Bimmer up there, next year.

Sure hope someone from 02 FAQ attends and takes lots of photos for us all to look at.

The British Invasion weekend is a great time. The area is beautiful, but can get very chilly this time of the year. Be prepared to spend a ton of cash up there. It is set up as a money grab a town that is dependent on tourism. It runs in September to help fill the hotel rooms and restaurants in the slow time between the Summer vacationers and the arrival of the leaf peepers later in the month. After that, ski season starts. A couple of years ago I headed up just to see the show. Entering the show field visitor parking area, I was hit up for a $6 "parking donation" for the local kids hockey program. Seemed fair enough until I tried to walk into the roped in show area where another $15 entrance fee awaited me.

My in-laws live in Middlebury, so we'd stay with them (or with my sister-in-law, in Keene NH, if that's closer). We've spent plenty of vacation time as well as Thanksgiving & Christmas in Vermont, so we're very familiar with the weather. Personally, I love cool (even cold), crisp fall weather.....particularly when I'm driving a classic car with a good heater ;)

My friends that were there for the British Invasion event reported haveing a great time, with the only disappointment being their inability to mooch a couple of beers from some Jaguar folks, from Mass. They mentioned a Brit-owned & operated pub featuring Old Speckled Hen on tap.

I'm looking forward to going up there next year.
