I'm running an IE stepped header mated to 2.5" pipe with a Sebring resinator and muffler. Love it, and now even more with the DCOE45 howl.

Jono

Jono........great sound....but back in the day we ran a 73 w/ a muffler that hung like yours..... and we scraped it alot. Do you have similiar issues?

Joel-

Tii header to Resignator to straight pipe to a monza dual tip. Not to loud actually compliments the car quite nicely. Come along on the next drive and take it out for a spin! It's got a real good sound.

Your Monza tips are just tips...not a muffler?...

I'm running Alpina/supersprint headers mated to a 2" pipe. 4' unknown brand reso and dynomax muffler. Soft rumble at 3K, mild deep tone at idle. Love the sound.

Id really like to hear this set up......Ive used dynomax often.....on other cars..

can you do a vid?

I had the local muffler shop do a 2 1/4" with 2 glasspacks in series, one in the trans tunnel where the resonator would be, and one where the stock muffler goes. Its pretty quiet lugging around town, but goose it a little--big grin!

Sounds just like a hot 4-banger should, imho.

2.25 sounds big...maybe too big...what engine set up?...did you lose low end grunt?....

My setup:

stock 2.0L block/head

alpina type header w/2.25" exhaust

292 cam

mikuni phh 44's

overdrive 5sp w./3.64

As for low-end-grunt, I can easily spend all day below 2500rpm on my daily commute. Sometimes I have to because of traffic.

But we all know that's just no fun ;)

Stahl header with 2.5 inch Magnaflow and a center resonator on the A/X car. Our SCCA region has lost sites over sound so we are restricted to 93 DB. This setup maxes out at 90 DB on an "enhanced" M10. Have run open exhaust when we had a failure, unbelievable sounds from the M10. Also used to run 2002 Turbo system which seemed relatively heavy compared to our current setup and didn't fit well over the rear suspension given our ride height.

Hey Joel,

I haven't scraped it yet, but it does hang low. One of my projects this winter is to fill the original notch, cut one in the center and raise the muffler a hair.

Well... Im sure Ill be shunned for this but it was cheap..

Stahl headers, tii center resonater, ansa dual tip...

The whole set up cost let then $200, although not "custom"

BTW I think this was pre headers...

OK, I grabbed a recording ---- mic'd at the tailpipe.

Smmoooooooooth Jazz it's not ;-) But it sounds pretty sweet to me nonetheless.

It's quite a bit louder than what you pickup inside the car while driving. Guess I know why I set car alarms off in parking garages...
