My Becker seems to have died

Becker in New Jersey can fix that probably, if you want: http://www.beckerautosound.com/Classic/index.htm

now: '72 Inka 2000 touring, '82 Alpina C1 2.3  & '18 328d wagon (daily driver)

before: a lot of old BMWs (some nice, some not so much), a few air-cooled 911s and even a water-cooled Cayman S

No, I haven't noticed what they're going for, but it's not that expensive to repair, and why go with an unknown anyway?

I like the look too, but I've been considering hiding a newer head unit because I really am spoiled by modern audio systems.

John, are you running your ipod through it?

The two speaker set up I have in the 02 can not compare to the sound in the 10 speaker set up in the 530 not to mention the head unit; but to be honest with you I'm just happy to have ipod music in the thing. For a couple of years I only got two stations 1 gospel and one rock and not even classic rock.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well Ed from BeckerAutosound called me about my Becker and he said and I quote "the thing works flawlessly". He said he ran it over night and it's still "flawless".

One thing he did tell me is that I have to use the selector buttons to ensure that it set to AM or FM because of the stiff ride of the car the thing that grabs a station may be sliding out from a bump or two. He could not explain the Ipod issue other than to say check the connector.

Well I guess I'll check my wiring again.
