New door panels

Recommended Posts

There was a thread last week about what people had done when having door panels redone and I said I would post a couple pics so here they are. I went with the same style as the original panels but instead of the heat bonding I had them put a stiched seam. I also decided to delete the ash trays because I dont want anybody to even consider smoking in my car or sticking their gum in there (now that I think of it I have only had people in the back seat once in 6 months of daily driving.) Im very happy with the results. I am trying to decide if I want to put chrome strips on the doors or not. Im considering doing just the two strips at the bottom. Or maybe doing it all. For those of you who have worked with the 3M adhesive chrome before do you think it will stick well to the vinyl without the orginal chrome below? Opinions on both questions appreciated. I still dont know how to properly post photos so here is the flickr link.

great job. Looks really good.

Wish I could say I had something to do with the job other than the install but not thats not so. Thanks for the compliment though.

beautiful workmanship....love the seat color combo too...

I did choose the color combo so I suppose I can accept that compliment. do you think the chrome strips will stick to the vinyl Esty? I know you are constantly answering questions on this but after searching and reading your previous posts it sounds like you put them over the top of the original strips, is that correct?

i did use them over the original strip but as long as the vinyl is clean and no covered in armor-all the plastic chrome stuff like i used will stick...

if it does come off there's no harm to the vinyl...but i doubt that will happen unless you leave the car in some very very hi temp heat

it would most def dress up your panels
