+1 for Esty!

Just walked in the door and had two packages from Esty... After a long day of traveling it felt like Christmas. Esty's carpet and dash cap is the real deal. I can't wait to get dynamat, stereo wiring completed, and have the carpet installed. If anyone is debating on which kit to purchase... Work with Esty... Fast turnaround... Paid Monday morning and delivered Thursday.

Thanks Esty,

Todd

yo, dynamat is super expensive. if you haven't already bought it, try the black roof stuff from Home Depot. it's <1/10th the cost and pretty much same thing with no flashy logos.

...And a lot of the homedepot stuff is asphalt based and will smell like a freshly tarred road...especially on warmer days or after the car has been closed up for a while. It does work tho' and you can use adhesives to get it to stick more permenantly.

alternative to dynomat--

Raam Audio is having a sale right now. Rick is a good guy and fellow gearhead. He used to race in the 70's... (he's gone the way of audio to make a living)

He's out of town at the moment but will ship you order this Monday.

Don't buy the homedepot stuff if you ever want to see what is under it ever again. I am trying to remove it out of my car and after it heats up a couple times, the tar separates from the foil backing. When you go to pull off the deadener, the foil comes up and your left with a nice thick layer of tar goo everywhere.

+1 on not using the roofing underlayment (Wintergaurd is one brand name) as a general contractor we prescribe it a bunch for roofing, but I would not want the tar like odor, or the potential off-gassing that would occur in a hot car.

okay so now my effort on what i can do.

Do not use that asphalt crap from home depot yes it will work kinda ....

but dynamat is made with more of a rubber compound and this is why its

1 - More money

2 - dampens vibration "for sound quality and performance"

3 - wont smell like asphalt

Okay so people think u pay for a logo on the chrome foil but the foil is easier to work with a wooden doll roller then that asphalt stuff

i dunno you get what you pay for but i can get you a link or a phone number where i order my stuff out of philly if you need it i think i paid like 60 bucks for 120 feet by 2 feet came in 2 rolls of 60foot

email me if you need this stuff ill get you a price
