New brace/battery holder

Here's a shot of my new rear shock tower brace/battery holder. It's fairly simple, but if I kept stalling to make the next version, it would have never ended up in the car.

The tabs are 1/8" aluminum and the rest is 1X2X.090" aluminum tubing.

The hardest parts were fish mouthing the horizontal member and coming up with a design that fit tightly but could still be removed; the first iteration fit great, I tacked it up but the couldn't get it out to finish the welds. Another fabricating note: I originally envisioned some gussets between the tabs and the cross member but they were next to impossible to make so I ended up making multiple passes to build up the bead to a throat depth of about 1/4".

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with the amps in the top of the photo: leave them there or build a little rack beside the battery.

nice work there. I wish I could do the same but without the drilling through the shock mounts.
