Hi Guys,

I need to replace the rear bearings following a hub failure and I am out of spares and not time to order from BMW. Need to go to a bearing shop.

Does anyone have the dimensions or the SKF number handy?

Thanks

Anthony

Anthony, if it's not too late, here's the info:

SKF & FAG both are marked 62 28 C3

But the actual dimensions are 28x58x16

The bearing is popular in sport bikes, so don't give up searching local (some sealed, some open.)

Numbers can show in different formats

6228-C3

62/28/C3

It's known as a Single Row Radial bearing by most mfg or Cylindrical Deep Groove by SKF.

Here's the real data

Sorry to drop in Anthony but can you describe how to remove the bearings from the hub and the tools used? Haynes isn't clear and I don't want to bugger them up.

thanks, P
