Recommended Posts

I am flexible on price (but not crazy) if you are interested shoot me an offer and let's talk. I am asking 17k obo with the carbon airbox and alpha-n. I will take 15K without the carbon airbox, innovate, and alpha-n and I am planning to purchase an OEM plenum and I am lookingf or an OEM AFM and airbox. I thought had the AFM and airbox but another party got them before I could close the deal..

Here are the details:

Any previous owner that has interest please contact me, Rich and Andy, you both have my phone number.

Photo of my car posted on M2BMW.com, AndyS driving, NOT my photo prior to installing the carbon boot and bonnet

Most of you probably know this car. AndyS got it with the motor and some other things done and he finished her off. Rich Gromer added the DTM air box and Alpha-N, the sound system and the keyless entry, I added the Ireland radiator and updated some hoses and belts.

Here are some photos: 1973_M2BMW

More photos, M2BMW

Here are the details of the car

Car started life as a 1973 2002…

Engine: adjustable cam gears updated chain tensor, DTM carbon fiber air box and alpha-N from John in Germany (S14Power)

New Ireland engineering AL Turbo radiator with override fan to keep the S14 at optimal temp.

Recent valve adjustment. Car pulls hard, metric mechanic 60-80 3rd gear test at 3 seconds (actually just under). compression was solid at 190 across the cylinders and leakdown of less than 10%, valves adjusted in 2008, timing chain refreshed less than 5K miles prior.

Driveline: 320 OD five speed with a 3.9:1 LSD and Summers Bros. billet stub axles

Chassis: adjustable camber and caster in the front and adjustable

camber in the rear, Ireland Engineering short lever arm 22mm hollow

sway bars, custom front strut bar, urethane engine mounts, rear shock

tower brace, battery relocated to the rear shock tower brace, Ray's

Engineering wheels and new Bridgestone RE01-R rubber (No winter rubber), H&R springs, Bilstein dampers, bigger vented four wheel discs w/ braided stainless

Body: all trim and side markers shaved, flat Euro turn signals, early

bumpers, fenders rolled, custom carbon fiber hood and trunk retaining

all stock mounting points, latches and hardware H4 headlight

conversion BMW E30 Recaros, all new upholstery, German wool carpet and

headliner E30 M3 lighted rearview mirror. Headlight switch is a bit

finicky but the lights work, high and low beams. Headlight switch should be replaced since it is becoming more and more finicky. You can override it so you will never be stranded but it is a PITA.

Momo Steering wheel

All new VDO gauges and an Innovate Motorsport wide band O2 monitor

(wide band is currently not working need to trace the bug) installed

in a custom Parker Performance leather console. High

end sound system 2000 watts of Exile amps, powering a Kenwood

KDC-MP735U with full Ipod control. Custom component pods were layed up

for the front and a 'glass speaker enclosure with four eight inch

Exile subs was installed under the rear seat base keeping the added

weight centered and in front of the rear axle so as not to increase polar rotational mass. Full sound deadening was also added. Full alarm with keyless locking installed.

She has some minor body parking lot kisses but she is sound and rust free (There is one surface chip that should probably be paint matched sooner rather than later).

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
