This is not meant to be disrespectful, however I've noticed all the little hidden advertizing going on in the past few weeks. Here is one example!

This was found on the Bring-a-Trailer update of the Snowball Rally:

In the picture with the green Triumph is Davin P’s M20-powered ‘72 BMW 2002. Over the past week he’s gotten a whole bunch of repairs and upgrades at A1 Imports in San Rafael. JP Cadoux, the owner of A1 Imports in San Rafael, built the car a couple of years ago.

It’s not much to look at, but it’s a rock-solid, hard-charging competitor".

Norm

Davin you are rock-solid.

Will this lead to competitive infomercials? What happens when you mix mightymendit with seafoam? But wait, operators are standing by . . . .! Can seafoam handle a green laser beam? And after the tuneup, wash and dry with JPShammy? lol

I do not think Billy can drive a stick car since he only has two hands and they are always gesturing and not available for shifting! He probably has no need for horns since other drivers can hear him over their engines.

Gee, a recommendation for a good, reliable shop on this board. Will commercialism never cease?

IMO any 1st-hand recommendation on this board is a valuable addition. But that's just me.

The only safe place for Billy is tethered down to a pickup truck bed. Those hands are lethal weapons as is his mouth! I generally reach for face protection when he appears on TV. A warning ought to precede his commercials regarding hearing loss too. Noise canceling devices would fly off the shelf if they demonstrated a proven ability to mute Billy! Something about his ability to project makes me think he would not be credible as a breath mint pitchman unless he was selling Por15 gargle. Come to think of it, the damp shamwow might be a good noise suppressor. LOL

in journalism. IIRC Delia is doing some sort of marketing/pr for them and reporting/posting on some website about what went on and mentioning them without doing the same for each car that she might have mentioned (regarding who built/preps them) that is not paying her.

This is normal ethics today, so I'm not flaming the Deliaster as she's not getting enough dough yet. Make 'em pay for your corruption.

It's just like David E. Davis and his 1968 2002 review.

Follow the money.

...and the 8 hours I paid JP for (looooong overdue front end rebuild) was a tax return well spent.

I also spent about 25 hours of my time in the last week working on her (doing about a tenth of what JP did in his 8 hours).

And I actually like looking at my cosmetically-flawed little car too... so... uh...

Not quite sure what to say except that in the many years I've known the man JP has never been much of one to self-promote. It's no secret that Delia does work at A-1 these days, so I'm not too surprised to see her comment. But I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with JP.

It's not something I'd leave on Bring a Trailer, 'cause in my own opinion it does come off as being just a bit much in the plug department...

But, y'know, whatevs. Everyone has a different opinion on this stuff. And as we all know, Norm's a man of opinion!

That was a hell of a great weekend, and of course one of the biggest reasons it was so much fun was because of the antics of some of our beloved FAQers. I'll post my pics here in a day or two.
