OK guys, I need your help. After painting my car, it won't start. Its getting gas, the starter turn over, but no spark.

Any suggestions where to start looking? I'm thinking it is either the points or the coil.

Any help would be appreciated!!

The diagnostic steps in the Haynes 2002 manual in the ignition system chapter is pretty clear and straight-forward. I ran through this when mine was not starting and the ignition system checked out... turned out I had a very sick Weber carb that needed some work.

If your car was just painted make sure your grounds are reaching bare metal. Check the small braided neg. ground strap to the body, located just forward of the brake fluid reservoir. If your starter is working, that ground is probably OK, but I'd check.
