Microfiber rear deck

Today I re-upholstered the rear deck (parcel shelf) in my '02.

The PO had cut holes in it for 6" speakers, and when I replaced them, I moved them to under the rear seats. Two gaping holes were left and the vinyl was looking gross to boot.

Pulled everything apart and realized some fresh 1/8" hardboard was in order. I drilled 1/4" holes like giant perforations in it where the speakers used to be so my trunk subwoofer can still be heard. On top of this I glued 8mm closed cell foam, drilled matching holes and chamfered the edges. The final touch was some microfiber fabric I found at Fabricana, glued with 3M adhesive and stapled on the bottom.

I think it looks pretty sharp! Nice flat finish and clean. The microfiber wrinkled in a couple of spots, but it's one of those things only I can see because I know where they are ;)

I drive faster than photons travel, so I'm not worried. Unless light decides to behave like a wave, then I'm f-cked.
