Rivet Nut tooling???

You don't need a fancy puller for those if your not setting a whole bunch of them.....

Here's how I do them:

Get a scrap of steel strip ~1/16th thk X ~3/4 of an inch wide and 6 to 8 inches long.

You need a high strength bolt (I usually use an allen bolt) and nut combo that matches the rivnut and has enough thread to fully engage the rivnut and the nut, sandwiching the steel strip.

Drill a clearance hole, for the fastener to be used, in the end of the steel strap.

Thread the Rivnut on the bolt, nut, strip assy

Insert the rivnut in the hole and tighten the NUT while holding the steel strip to keep the rivnut from spinning. Sometimes you'll need an allen wrench to keep the bolt from spinning but I usually don't need one. The friction between the rivnut and the strip is usually enough to keep it from spinning.

You'll be able to feel it cinch up.

Dave,

Thanks for the tip. I have to do about 60 of them. But I found the tool at harbor freight for under $20 bucks.

Thanks

Le
