69 2002 part out

Recommended Posts

I have decided to part out my driver and sell off the shell for cheap. It is pretty straight, but has some bad cancer in the frame rails. I don't want to put any more time/money into it and the sell it as a lemon. The car is 100% complete, runs and drives.

Clean title car in my name, I have title.

I will begin the part out next week, and all part should be up for grabs for the right price.

Very nice dark blue interior,

decent dash,

maybe selling the small bumpers (ebay likely)

Borrani 13x5.5" wheel set available

send me an email or a phone call and we can meet up next week!

Thanks,

I just parted my 1600-2 and its rusty everywhere BUT the frame rails and nose!?! Can you email me as well patrick? I would be interested in the aluminum trim if its in descent condition.

jasontgipson@gmail.com in case anyone wants the rails/nose for this shell..

2002 newbie, and dead serious about it.

let me further explain the extent of the rust.

Poorly filled rust-holes in the rear 1/4 panels around the wheels. Rust holes in the doors, etc. The front fenders are nice (I prepped them for another car, and threw them on this one)

It has rust in the bottom of the nose, and the front metal isn't perfect, but pretty straight. The rear panel is fairly straight, worth salvaging.

It only looks nice in the photos, but if you were to inspect it closer it gets gross. It is a shell -maybe- worth caging and reinforcing if you have the means to do so.

All the trim is original and in pretty nice shape, I'll send emails to both interested parties tonight.

Thanks,

Patrick

I will update this page when I get back to the car next Monday. I will be working on the house where the car is, and parting the car all week, so if anybody wants to meet up let me know.

Thank for all of your interest. I will be responding to emails when I get the chance.

The car did not come with a center console. I don't think any '69s came with a console, but I could be mistaken.

Thanks for all the interest. I will be working on the car tomorrow afternoon.

Everything is available and I am looking to make deals with FAQ'ers before I go to ebay. I will be posting the interior on craigslist.

Feel free to post here or contact me with any part requests. The shell will be available with a clean title very shortly.

Cheers,

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
